Description
This is a real chicken egg that I blew out and washed thoroughly.For the design, I used a method similar to batik painting on fabric with wax as a resistor. I painted a design on the shell with wax, dyed the egg in ink, removed the wax and repeated this several times. Then I added metallic gold accents.
It's very time consuming but I love the layers of color and pattern that results.
