Top viewI've created this elegant vase by covering a ceramic vase with polymer clay, iridescent red glass gems, iridescent czech glass beads and metallic paint in Chinese Red, Emerald, Jade and Gold Leaf.
One of my favorites! It's beautiful all by itself but is water-tight and could also be used as a fresh flower vase.
It measures 4" x 3.5"

This vase makes me imagine it to come straight out of the Amazone. The earth and vines makes me imagine the lost kingdoms of the Incas or Aztecs.

I really do believe I would fall in love with that medium. I'm already in love with your vase. It's truly beautiful. And in a style I'd gravitate towards since I've also dabbled a bit over the years in beaded (and macrame) jewelry.

Do you put the beads and gems on there before you put it in the oven? Hmmm.

Thank you! Yes, my image is reflected in every bead...sometimes worse than others! I still need to build a light box to photograph in....
I do put the beads, gems and everything else I might add, on the raw clay before curing. The gems pop off easily after but I super-glue them back into their little indentions.
