Description I made my first polymer clay cane on a whiim. It is silver, black and raspberry. I made what is called a 'skinner blend' and the center of each swirl is pale silver getting darker and darker as it spirals out.

Anyhoo, I was playing around with the scraps and this is what I made. Trouble is....I was using a different brand of clay and I didn't realize that it cures in 15 minutes. I cured them for 30 minutes! As a result, they are much darker than they should be...sigh*

Ah well...I was just goofing around

I think these look fantastic, even if they are too dark. Kind of like when you get a banana split completely covered in whip cream - it may be way too much, but nobody's going to complain.

And speaking of food... First, you made something that looked like taffy, then you put candy wrappers in another, and now raspberries? I think you're trying to send subliminal anti-diet messages...

I love pink but I'm really picky about the shades of pink that I like. I think this raspberry color would look better with ecru and/or black than silver. JMHO, though!

Not... Not too sure about the raspberry colors with turquoise. Dont get me wrong, its beautiful, but the colors are kind of eye watering together. But I love the top middle piece. Those would make AMAZING pendants!

LOL...eye watering! So well put *wipes tears from eyes* Yeah...I actually refer to that one as 'toxic sludge'. heh heh

I'm glad you think the middle piece would make a good pendant because it is kind of what I had in mind when I made the cane. I won't overbake the next batch and they won't be so dark. The silver centers shimmer!

It certainly is "toxic".

As for the cane pieces they really didnt turn out so bad. I like how dark they are with that slight shimmer and that bright pinkish red! The colors are just fabulous like that.
