Description This is a polymer clay ACEO that I made with polymer clay, glass and a pretty brass butterfly. ACEO are little works of art that must measure 2.5" x 3.5".

I'm totally new to working with polymer clay, and have a question.  My husband is a woodworker and is going to make boxes.  I would like to know if there is a way to attach (such as a glue or adhesive) polymer clay to wood, such as the lid of a box?  And would the polymer clay be baked WITH the wood, or would it warp the wood to back it with the polymer clay?  I just need to know how to attach a baked polymer clay decoration to the wood lid.  Thanks...and I love your work! --Rad4JC

Thank you so much and so sorry for the delayed response! I have tried baking on the wood itself and baked the clay piece separately and glued it onto the box. It's great that your husband is a woodworker as he can pick a wood that can withstand the temperature needed to cure the clay. I bought inexpensive wood boxes and some of them would warp slightly when subjected to the oven's heat. If you are just going to decorate the top of the box, you could easily make your clay piece separately and glue it onto the box when it has cooled. I like using WeldBond glue.

Thanks so much for your input and info; I really appreciate it! You definitely inspire me, and I hope to learn how to be creative with polymer clay. I guess Youtube will be where I head to next. Do you have any suggestions as to the best place for me to learn? Resources? Thanks so much! --Cindy

I thought it was a light-switch cover until I read the description.  Which is goofy of me since it doesn't have the necessary holes for such a thing, but in my defence, the thumbnail of this is pretty small so it's harder to tell...I think the faint outline of the watermark tricked me into thinking there was a central cut-out.

LOL! Okay, we'll chalk it up to the watermark. I have seen quite a few really awesome light switch covers made of polymer clay though.
