On the fullview you won't be able to see the small details I put into their cloth, the coloring, and Ed's automail, soplease click on download, to see all the details!
Though it's a VERY big file. ^^' Aaarhhg, finally done!! You won't believe me when I tell you this piece took me about 16-18 hours to make!!

Fuah, I'm glad I made it in time. The deadline was today.
It's only the second time I'm making an entry for a contest here on dA!

Ah, thanks for that advice. I can see that they're really... REALLY bright. I'm not used to making backgrounds, and I wanted some bright colors in contrast to all the brown and dark tones, but I guess I overdid it. xD Thank you~

Finding the right color balance can be hard, yes it can. So many times I finish something and then look at it later and think of so many things I should have done better, color-wise. Well, everything-wise, really, haha.
I think with steampunk, though, muted browns is not a problem, but actually favorable. It reminds me of old photographs, which seems very steampunk.

Yes indeed. I changed all the different brown nuances hundreds of times to get them right so they would match.
Yeah I can agree on that, but I thought that maybe the picture would be too brown if I made it all sepia-colored.

Yeah, deadlines force us artists to throw up our hands and say, well, it's good enough! And and Leonardo da Vinci said, "Art is never finished, only abandoned." True that. Nothing I draw turns out quite exactly how I pictured it in my mind, haha.
Omg, backgrounds. I avoid them whenever possible. When not possible, I cheat.

Exactly, that's how I feel about my drawings way too often, because I don't get time to finish them properly, and never continue on them after they've been put away. :/ True, so true. Same here. Mostly it looks better in your mind than on the paper. xD
I do too, but sometimes, I try, just a little. xD
