So it's super late and I'm exhausted from TDTNW '10, but here's a Ty Lee shot from the photoshoot we did on Friday~! I'll post some better ones later, so this is just a little preview.
Also, a few things: this was made specifically for the movie premiere (ohhh, so much disappoint). So it's not like super amazing craftsmanship quality. And I'm planning to use the wig for Fawn from Pixie Hollow, so the bangs aren't completely accurate for Ty Lee (also why the braid isn't standing up). Whoo flaws! Either way, it's still a super fun costume, and I can't wait to do her beach version now~!

Haha that's alright. When I cosplayed Ty Lee in '07 I was super stiff. I'm still not incredibly flexible, but I'm working on it! It's my new year's resolution to do a split. XD
Question for you. What kind of fabric did you use? I've been thinking about remaking my Ty Lee, and the cotton I used the first time had no stretch, but I'm hoping to find something that does.

The day I'm able to do a split will be a sure sign of the Apocalypse. xD
Both the pants, shirt, belt, collar, and cuffs (i.e. the light pink and rust fabric) is all non-stretch cotton. The shirt closes in the back with Velcro, and the cuffs and belt all close with Velcro, too. The collar just slips over my head. Only the dark red panels on the belt are stretchy fabric - ironically, they're the only part that doesn't need to stretch.

aww thanks. I want to make season 3 Azula as well, but i just don't have the money for it so I don't know if it'll ever get made. It would be a ton of fun to get photos with all of our beach party-ness!

i think thats what we were planning for as well! Its one of the few cons we do thursday costumes for since its our local convention.

not clothing works. lol Since i use my own hair for Azula it works best on thursday for me too because i can style it at home and then be at the con! (i hate having to do my hair in the hotel room! wigs are soo much easier!) plus going from a wig to... not a wig sucks. Flat hair is gross too.

Agreed like so much. My hair looks awful after it's been under a wig cap - unless it's wet when I put it under. Then it comes out perfectly curly, weirdest thing everrr.

I'm really happy with how that wig turned out, it took sooo much work to weft the extensions into the mesh. x_x So many burned fingers.
