Description Another musician caricature, this time of a prominent figure of the New Wave era who's still going pretty strong today: Sting! (And not the wrestler)

Singer, songwriter, actor, multi-instrumentalist, activist: he's done these all. Singer & bassist for The Police, a rock group that drew influences from jazz, punk, & reggae, Sting, along with Andy Summers (guitar) & Stewart Copeland (drums) became one of the best selling artists during the early eighties. However, after their successful "Syncronicity", the group split up. Andy Summers went on to do film scores, writing, & photography. Stewart Copeland went on to drumming with other acts & composing soundtracks (he also did the soundtracks for the first three Spyro games). And Sting? He went on to do a successful solo career which involved rock, jazz, & world music. He's also known by Disney fans for contributing songs to "The Emperor's New Groove" in which only two made it into the movie, one of which, "My Funny Friend & Me", was performed by him.
