Description I remember coming across a clip from that new Skylanders game or whatever that involved Crash Bandicoot talking, and I'm surprised just how many people freaked over the idea of Crash having a speaking voice in the comments section. My problem with the clip wasn't so much that Crash was talking, but rather that he was even involved in Skylanders in the first place.

But seriously, I always pictured Crash as being a talking character, even back when I was a kid, and seeing people making a big deal over Crash having a speaking voice just baffles me. What, did that one promo with a talking Crash just permanently leave a bad impression on people like the Legend Of Zelda cartoon and CD-I games with a talking Link did? (That silent protagonist cliche in video games really needs to stop being used so much.)  I pictured quite a few different voices for Crash growing up, but one that always stuck to me was Dan Castellaneta. Yeah, Homer Simpson himself. What inspired this was hearing him voice Earthworm Jim in the cartoon based on the game. It just felt perfect to me, the stereotypical melodramatic superhero voice that was capable of going full-blown psychotic when needed. It may seem like an odd fit, but I found it funny at least. One of the things that annoyed me about later depictions of Crash was that he was depicted as sort of a mindless idiot. I personally feel that Crash is less stupid and more... crazy. Not Ripper Roo crazy, but he's definitely unhinged, mentally. And what could be crazier than a big worm in a super-powered suit?

So with that strange connection in mind, here's Crash blasting away at Cortex (offscreen) with his Wumpa bazooka while channeling the worm wonder, as Coco and Aku-Aku react to his maniacal antics.

And before anyone asks my thoughts on the remastered trilogy, I'm skeptical. It might be good, but it could easily go bad as well, so I'm not sure what to think. I'm at least glad he's getting some new exposure, even if it's with the idiots at Activison. (I'm just wishing Naughty Dog would get the rights to him back, personally.)

I like your art. In the Skylanders show, Crash meet Spyro.
