Description
I am making a manga (or novel with a lot of pictures at least), and in doing so, I am developing my characters one at a time. Right now, the character I am working on is the main character, Kiala Katerine. This is the most recent picture of her, so if you want to see more of her, feel free to use the links below.

Character Description Relating to Fire
Kiala’s element is fire. Obviously. As you can see from the border, the two animals that symbolize her are both the tiger and the dragon. Ask me if you want an explanation. Anyway, both animals are fire animals, and they are also mortal enemies, which is also symbolic of her inner turmoil. No, she isn’t one of those self hating hero figures nor is she a split personality victim… but she IS often at odds with what she wants and feels she should do, as well as the turmoil that arises from the love triangle that develops with Koji-kun and Ryu. Her personality is a fire personality. Her zodiac sign would be one of the fire signs, because she is very passionate. She is the kind to nurture (bring life and care for as a fire can do) those she holds very dear and destroy without warning (burning down like an uncontrolled fire) those who threaten her or her friends. She can be flirty, even in battle sometimes, especially since her technique is a blending of her dancing skills and what she learned sparing with Ryu. This is not her usual deal though, because most of the time, she opts to hide her appearance and pretend to be a guy… something she feels she must do but hates doing. She is the kind who has no problem smiling (figuratively and literally) at an enemy and luring them into false security right before she strikes them down. That is why she is in that pose. When it comes to using elemental magic, everyone has their strength, and hers is fire, naturally. She is better at calling it up than any one she knows… the reason for which she doesn’t discover until much later. That reason is that she actually is part dragon. In her world, Terra, Earth (the element) Dragons are shape shifters and it is common for them to take the guise of a human. One such dragon did so and fell in love with a human girl, and he even fathered a daughter. She is a descendant of that union. This gives her a knack at using fire, and yes, the ability to call on a dragon form when she learns of her heritage and better masters her skills. Her colors are fire colors, except for her eyes… which are a remnant of her dragon ancestor who was a green dragon.

About the boarder: the final part of the picture is done, the border is supposed to look somewhat like jade... to match her eyes, and bring contrast to the piece. It is also a great stone to represent her. Elegant, smooth yet hard, and powerful.
