Ally an Alice class adventurer in her current form.
I use the old Basic D&D rules mixed with some modern OSR additions. Basically its a pencil and paper solo campaign I do to write silly adventures.
The Alice class is from a source book called “a red and Pleasant land” which was written for the lamentation of the flame princess rules. Which is just a revision of the old basic rules.
She essentially a thief with skills but has some Alice inspired quirks that make her a lot of fun to play.
Shes level 9 and a bit OP at this point. LOTFP’s thief has a D6 system for theif skills, which is great, but the sneak attack can get out of had. Currently she does 5x dmg with a d6+1 stiletto when back stabbing. That avgs 20 HP and will kill most things in the older systems. She recently backstabbed a dragon for 28 hp and finished it off.
I know a lot of people prefer more modern complex RPG’s with a million races and everyone has magic up the ass. But I like the simpler old school Basic rules. Its much more free flowing and fun.
I write out my games in prose as I play, so I have several chapters worth of adventures. Someday I might edit them and post as a story but I doubt it would be interesting to anyone but me.
