I had the idea that if Sauria was a battlefront in the lylat wars, it would have more basis from the Vietnam war rather than WW2.

though the intentions for the venomians and andross is that they aren't going to conquer it, but use the planet via a conflict between the earthwalkers and sharpclaws as a sort of scapegoat (essentially a proxy war) to make the cornerians look bad by having them devastate this primitive planet both environmentally (using incendiaries and hericides) and culturally (massacring the inhabitants and ruins destroyed out of suspicion of being used as bases and outposts resulting in knowledge lost) in an attempt to weed out the venomian aided side (who is using guerrilla warfare). A large amount of civillian deaths on sauria would be the result of cornerian and venomian troops lashing out on unaligned and neutral tribes out of paranoia and outright racism
Just imagine cornerian troops marching across thorntail hollow with dozens upon dozens of Β Gyrowings Β flying overhead with a krazoan ruin burning in the distance

When we talk about guns and pain in drawing M-16s, there were still Thompson M1A1s, M-14 and Shotguns (idk type now)
