Description
So I've tried my hand at DRD characters and used my descriptions of the characters from the stories both as a test for the AI and also my own descriptions. I got a few decent results! ^^
Dorm Room Dolls is a interesting story in my Gallery. It started off as a collaboration with Senor-Refresho who came up with many characters like the Blue Fairy, Jessie, and Ms. Papillon and the premise. I managed to finish the narrative and while it took some time, it was worthwhile. Definitely fun and it's been a popular story in my Gallery.
So, as a tribute to the story and it's fans, I present several characters in AI form. I couldn't get them all, but these are the ones who came out the best.
From top left to right.
1.) Anna The Blue Fairy. She is the inciting Blue Fairy who began the Toy Takeover of the Dorm where the hapless college students were. She has carried the wand for an indeterminate amount of time, and just like the stories of Pinocchio she has powers over toys and people. Her wand is basically all childhood joy, innocence, and creativity distilled into one object. While she has some control over the inanimate objects she uses her wand on, when it comes to people, her magic brings out their inner most desires and passions. It's less she turns a person into a toy form, and more that she liberates the toy from the confines of the person. If an owner claims a toy, her magic has no effect as the bond between toy and owner is something her magic has no effect on. She is basically purely chaotic neutral. She just goes around spreading child-like wonder and joy wherever she goes for the sake of it.
2.) Vivi/Veronica, Blue Fairy Form. Another Blue Fairy. It's a bit spoiler-ific if I say anything about her, just know that she loves rock and she loves Ms. Papillon even more! The AI did her more intricate design pretty well, but she is supposed to have pointed ears as well like all the Blue Fairies. XD
3 & 4.) Jessie the Jill or Jackie-in-the-Box. Probably my personal favorite character in the story, Jessie was an artist who, after an encounter with Anna the Blue Fairy, finds herself with springs in her arms and legs and a lovely comfy-cosy box to live in! Not to mention a lovely Jester's Motley, make up, and hat all for free. Sure, it's irremovable for the doll, but considering it can't get dirty and stretches and springs with her what more could a Jill-in-the-Box ask for?! Of all the characters, she certainly takes being turned into... sorry, liberated in toy form very well.
5.) Sabrina the Black Chess Knight. It was hard to get a full body picture of her since it would show her sword and shield, but I like this headshot of Sabrina. She is a student who wants to serve, to fulfill duties, and thus a chess form is quite appropriate I think. If I could change one thing about her, it's that she could communicate somehow. In the story, her face is basically decoration, a mask. She can move and express with her eyes though.
6.) Chris, the Reluctant Soldier and "Owner" of Jessie. Chris is the only human character on this Collage. He managed to somehow avoid the Blue Fairies and stumble across Jessie. Jessie convinces him that she will turn back to normal if Chris "plays" with her. However, while Chris finds it weird to be an "owner" of a living toy especially one as lively as Jessie, this ends up protecting him from the Blue Fiary magic and being toyified. The toy soldier outfit is a costume in a closet that Anna used her magic on, and they also found the plastic sword which will come in handy for the Reluctant Soldier.
7.) Kim the Toy Plane. My favorite design of the bunch. It is based on a parade costume where a gir lwas a toy plane pilot, and I thought it'd make a cute toy for DRD. Kim becomes a toy plane pilot, the plane and her are together and she has a remote control for her plane. She is actually toy sized compared to other characters in the story, which gives her an advantage when flying around which she ends up doing a lot.
8.) Trixie the Blue Fairy. This was surprisingly the hardest design to get right. Trixie is the Antagonist of the Story, and I wanted to make her distinct from the other Blue Fairies. Unlike the Fairy Tale princess design of Anna, Trixie basically remains modern save for the trademark pointed ears. She has a digital style to her, with her butterfly wings are like pixels and she is dressed like a cheerleader with stockings and tennis shoes. Trixie certainly is the type not to share her toys, much less permit others be "owners." Therefore, she wants to use her new powers as much as possible, and is fickle with her toys. Soon as she's done with one, she tosses into a box for her new ones. She isn't afraid to use her powers as she sees fit, bending rules until they break.
