It was Saturday morning. You were in your room in the Stark Tower actualizing the data of your laptop, when you realized you had way too many things in the hardware. Delete or not delete? That was the question and you chose to move them into an external memory, but when you reached for it, it was missing. And if something was missing inside the Tower, take it for granted that it will be in Pietro’s room.

So you got up and went to his room. It was 9:00 and you were sure that he would be sleeping, so you opened the door carefully, and there he was! The sheets around his waist, a leg on top of them and his bare chest squeezing the pillow below him.

“If I had brought the phone… such a pity..”; you thought looking at his sleeping face. “(y/n)!! Concentrate!! We are not here to start fangirling! CONCENTRATE!!”; so you started looking through his drawers and shelves, wondering where he had left the memory. You opened some of them, and in one you found a box of.. Twinkies?

Ok, this was being harder than you thought; you even found a piece of Tony’s armor! If you didn’t find Thor’ hammer might be because nobody can lift it. You turned to search in the drawers of the bedside table.

“What.. the…(y/n)?”; came Pietro’s groggy voice making you jump.

“Sorry, I’m looking for something”; and you opened the drawer to find his underwear.

“I don’t think you will find what you are looking in there”; he said wiping the sleep off his face; “Unless..”; he looked at you between his fingers.

“Unless nothing!”; you exclaimed with a blush; “Pietro, my external memory is missing”; you explained.

“So what?”; he got up from the bed and the sheet felt to the floor, revealing a black boxer, and there you stood, staring at him without realizing; “Want me to take them off?”; he asked quite flirtatious.

Redness overtook you; “Get serious please!”; you close your eyes; “ Where is it?”

“Where’s what?”; he asked while picking a pair of jeans from the chair and putting them on.

“The memory”; you opened the eyes; “MY external memory” you added quickly. He really took his time to dress up, was he doing that on purpose?

“And what make you think that is in here?”; he reached for the wardrobe and picked a dark blue shirt.

“I don’t know”; you said casually, sitting on his bed; “Maybe because whatever goes missing in the Tower magically appears in your room”; and he gave you his goofy, mischievous smile.

“Ooh, that external memory”; he said as if he just remembered; “Yep, I took it-”

“Return it, now!”; and you extended your hand.

“I took it, buuuuut I lend it to Tony”; he when searching for a pair of sneakers, better said, he was searching for ONE of the shoes.

“Wait, you lent my stuff to someone else AFTER stealing it?”; you throw the sneaker he was looking for at his chest.

“Well, he needed it too”; and finally he put on the shoes.

“For what?”; you asked incredulous and he shrugged.

“Come on”; you added getting up; “Let’s go find Tony”

“Do I have to come?”; he pouted like a child.

“I think it’s a light punishment, you help me find it and I don’t press charges against you”; you said with superiority.

“You wouldn’t press charges against me, there’s no proof it was me”

“I’m sorry to remind you that our dear JARVIS records all conversations inside the tower and a few minutes ago you admitted it, so fuck off and come”; you said grinning mischievously, Pietro rolled his eyes and you hold his hand before he disappeared making him smile, sad thing you didn’t noticed.

“Morning Speedy and (y/n), what can I do for you?; Tony greeted as the two of you went inside his studio.

“Tony”; you greeted him; “If you don’t mind, please give me the memory that this thief-”; you turned to Pietro, that was now drinking a coke; “When did you?”; you asked him to get a smirk back; “Anyways, that this idiot stole from my room”

“An external memory?”; Tony asked, caressing his beard; “Oh! I gave it to Speedy the-”; Tony lost his speech as Pietro was signaling the “cut it! Stop! Shut up” sing with his hand behind you; “Errm, I mean… I think Birdbrain took it, yes! Clint! he came the other day asking for something and maybe he took it by mistake”; Tony shrugged and went back to work.

As you were leaving with Pietro on your track, he turned to Tony and both men thumped up at each other.

“JARVIS, where’s Clint?”; you asked at the A.I.

“Mr. Barton is actually located inside the ventilation tubes of the spa”; JARVIS told you.

“The spa?”; Pietro asked bemused.

“Who’s there?”; you added.

“Ms. Romanoff and Ms. Maximoff”; JARVIS said.

“Thank you JARVIS. Pietro go quickly to my room and bring me my phone and the box that’s in the upper shelve of my wardrobe”; and as you finished talking he was gone only to reappear a few second later with the box and phone.

“Here you are”; and he handed it to you; “What’s inside?”

“Something that will make Clint cry for being a pervert. Let’s go”; and the two of you went to the spa while you phoned Natasha to tell her to put some clothes on surreptitiously and for Wanda to do the same.

When you arrived Wanda and Natasha were in bathrobes waiting for you.

“(y/n), what’s going on?”; Natasha asked you.

“Hey, sis”; Pietro greeted his sister.

“Nothing much, only that a pervert has been spying you two”; you said causally searching with the eyes where the vents were.

You turned to Wanda and asked her; “Could you use your powers to lift this balls inside the vents?”; and you opened the box to show ten black balls the size of a marble.

Wanda did as you asked and when all the balls where inside, you pressed a button and a “hissssss” sound and smoke came from the vents, and something more. Clint.

He felt to the ground with teary eyes, a running nose and coughing nonstop.

“Why?”; was all he could murmur before coughing again.

“Barton!? Were you spying us!!??”; Natasha exclaimed and Wanda tightened more her bathrobe.

“Maybe”; he said with a tiny voice.

“Ladies, before you kill him let me ask him a question”; and you turned to Clint; “Ok, pervy, I know you took an external memory from Tony, now, where is it?”; but he couldn’t speak as the gas of the balls was making effect, so he pointed at Natasha with the head.

“Oh, that memory was yours?”; She asked glaring at Clint; “I thought it was Steve’s, because there was a post-it that said “Give it to Steve Rogers” so I gave it to him”; she explained.

“Oh”; you said with a bit of disappointment; “Well, let’s go Pietro”; and you left the spa with him.

Meanwhile Natasha and Wanda cornered a crying Clint.

“I need to use the loo”; you said to Pietro and went to the ladies.

Inside, you went to the furthest cubicle and closed it, took out your phone and dialed Steve’s number, he answered at the second beep (fast even for him).

“Steve Rogers”; he introduced himself.

“I know who you are”; you said whispering, why? Who knows?

“(y/n)? Is that you?”

“Yes, Steve listen, this is super important, did you receive an external memory?”; you asked with high hopes that he still had it.

“Actually, one appeared yesterday morning on my table, it came with a letter and instructions to give it to Bruce when I finished”; Captain explained.

“So you don’t have it anymore?”

“No, sorry, but, are you searching for this memory because of Pietro?”; Steve asked.

“Yeah, he stole it a few days ago… wait, why did you say Pietro? Natasha told me it was her the one who left the memory in your room”

“But Pietro told me it was a surprise; didn’t you call me because he told you?”

“Surprise? What surpr-”

“I HAVE TO GO I SAID TO MUCH”; and he hang up.

Surprise?, what’s going on? The only things you were sure about were that the memory was right now with Bruce and that Pietro might have planned something, and knowing his mischievous side, it couldn’t be a good surprise.

You came from the ladies to find Pietro waiting for you like a good kid would do, but now that you knew that he was hiding something you couldn’t be so sure.

“Ready for paying a visit to the Cap?”; he asked you all smiles, definitely he was hiding something.

“Steve can wait”; you said looking at your watch, “I’m kinda hungry, aren’t you too?”

“I’m always hungry”; he said as a matter of fact.

“I was thinking that you could go to (Fav restaurant) and bring some takeaway?”; you asked with puppy eyes.

“But that place is on the other side of the city!!”

“So?, aren’t you so fast? What could it take you five minutes? Less?”

“Probably less than that”; he said calculating in his head how long the trip might take him.

“Here”; you handed him fifty bucks; “I want the ticket and return the change, and for god’s sake, please wait in the queue like a normal person, and don’t pout”; you said at his pouting face; “if you wait for your turn you can keep the change”; his face brightened, “But if you are here before 5 minutes I’ll know you’ve cheated, understood?”

“Understood”; and he disappeared.

Ok, five minutes to find Bruce and take the memory and get locked in your room to see the “surprise”, if it’s a virus you are definitely killing everyone.

Like always Bruce was in his laboratory when you found him, he was writing something and next to him was your memory! Finally!!

“Hey, Bruce”; you greeted him and he looked up from his work

“Hey there (y/n), do you need something?”; He asked you with a soft smile.

“Actually yes, I came for that”; and you pointed to the external memory; “Pietro has send me to get it”; you lied.

“Of course, here you go”; And he handed it to you; “ Hope you like it”

“Thank you Bruce, see you later”; and left the laboratory running to your room, how long did you have until Pietro came back? Two minutes? Maybe less.

You reached your room and slammed the door open and close and locked it. You turned the laptop on and plunged the memory in.

There was nothing out of normal, except that there was a new folder without name. you clicked on it for it to appear more folders but these had names, your friend’s names.

You first clicked on the one with Tony’s name and there was a video, and you clicked on it for Tony to appear holding a glass.

“Greetings (y/n), I just wanted to say that this is not my idea of a “Surprise gift”, if it was me, I would throw the greatest birthday party ever, with celebrities and such, but Speedy wanted to do something more personal, so that’s why I’m talking to a camera.

You know what, I’ll throw you a birthday party, not in the day itself because that won’t be a surprise but another day, one that you had no idea, and, and, and it will be the best party of the year, everyone will die to attend, and don’t worry about your family, I will send my private plane to pick them up. Don’t worry about the details, Pepper will be in charge”

“Excuse me?? I don’t want to prepare everything for you to take all the credit later”; Pepper said appearing in the scene.

“Hello dear” Pepper said to the camera; “happy birthday, just wanted to say that this is a very cute idea and that I already have a birthday present for you”

“We do? When did you buy it?”; Tony interrupted.

“I bought it with MY money and is My present for (y/n); Tony you will have to buy one yourself, and don’t say that this video is your present because it’s Pietro’s”

“That’s how things are”; Tony said getting closer to the camera; “Cheers to you”; and the video ended.

Oh my god!!! It was true, your birthday was on Monday!! And the folders were birthday messages from your friends!! And here you thought that Pietro might have destroyed everything inside the memory. You couldn’t help it and rushed to the next folder. Thor, but Thor left weeks before Pietro took your memory?

When the video started playing, in front of the camera was Pietro holding a letter.

“DEAR (Y/N)! I’M SO SORRY THAT I CAN NOT BE THERE TO SAY THIS WORDS MYSELF BUT I REALLY WISH YOU HAVE A GOOD BIRTHDAY”; Gods, Pietro was trying to talk like Thor!! And he was doing a good impersonation, you couldn’t help tears to roll from your eyes, the sight was so funny; “THE YOUNG LAD; that’s me by the way”; Pietro winked to the camera; “TOLD ME ABOUT THIS FANTASTIC IDEA AND SO I WROTE YOU THIS LETTER SINCE I’M IN ASGARD RIGHT NOW BUT I’LL DO THE IMPOSSIBLE TO SEND THE LETTER TO YOU; which as you can see, he did; “I ALREADY HAVE A PRESENT FOR YOU AND WHEN I RETURN I WILL GIVE IT TO YOU, I THINK THAT’S ALL, WAIT, NO, LADY SIF AND THE WARRIOR THREE ALSO WISH YOU A HAPPY BIRTHDAY”; and with that Thor letter ended; “You know, (y/n) this guy writing is horrible! Oh look there’s a P.S… and it’s from Loki!! Ok, I’m going to read it aloud doing the best of the impersonation”; he cleared his throat and looked straight to the lens; “Congratulations mere human, you are a year closer to death”; what you would expect from Loki, but you didn’t mind, you were laughing with Pietro anyways; “This guy is full of love”; he chuckled and turned the camera off.

The next video was from Clint, and for what it seemed he was, once again, in the vents.

“Happy Birthday (y/n)”; he said whispering; “I know that you might be wondering what I’m doing in the vents, I’m patrolling the zone in case something might happen, everything for the security!”; he thumped up; “Anyway, I wish to talk a bit more but the job needs to be done, huggies little birdy”; and the message ended, at least you know why he is always on the ventilations tubes.

Now it’s Natasha turn. “Hello, (y/n), this message is a very cute idea, you’d better be very niiiceee to Pietro later, I don’t know what else to say, I mean, we see each other every day, but now that you’re not in front of me I’m going to say something that’s been killing me, I know you have a crush on Pietro!!”; you turned red, of course you knew you had a crush but it was so obvious?; “And by the way, I think he also likes you, if not, why would he get in such a trouble for a present? See you later”; and she threw a kiss to the camera.

Pietro also had a crush on you!!?? The moment was getting better by seconds.

The next message was from Wanda; there she was in front of the camera without talking; “Wanda, I’m already recording you can talk”; came Pietro’s voice from the other side; “Oh, ok, Happy birthday (Y/n)”;she got up and left; “That’s all??” Pietro said coming in front of the camera looking perplexed and the video ended; you knew that Wanda would have preferred not to appear in the video and for that you appreciated the effort she made, even if it was for ten seconds.

Steve’s message was the next you saw. The first thing to appear in sight was his room but he wasn’t there, until you saw how the image trembled a bit and heard Steve’s voice; “I think this is recording”; and he appeared in front of the camera; “Hello (y/n), this is a bit awkward talking to a machine when you are next door, but I suppose that this is the surprise, I don’t know what the others might have said to you but I suppose is going to be something similar to this”; he cleared his voice, sat better in the chair, looked ahead and straight to the camera and said; “Happy birthday (y/n), I just wanted to say that it was a pleasure meeting you those years ago, you are one of my closet friends, and I suppose that this century is easier with your help. One of this days I’m going to ask you for a dance, of course if you don’t mind”; and he smiled sweetly to the camera, got up and tried to turn it off.

The last folders were the ones for Bruce and Pietro, and you decided to see Pietro’s last, so you clicked on Bruce and you saw him in his laboratory with the same clothes as before, and you deduced that he recorded the video earlier in the morning. “Good morning, well, I’m saying good morning because it’s morning right now but I don’t know what time will be when you see the video, so just in case, good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night (y/n)”; he said smiling softly, he took off his glasses and looked at the camera again; “And also happy birthday, I wish you’ll have a great day without Tony trying to get all the attention”; he chuckled at himself; “Anyway, I suppose I will see you later in the morning, but when you see this video that would be the past…”; he looked dozed out for a moment as if he had a brilliant idea, he got up and turned off the camera.

Every one’s videos seen, there was only one left, but you were afraid, what if he didn’t recorded one because he was waiting for the rest to do the same? You hold your breath and clicked on the folder and there appeared not one but two videos!! You clicked in the first one.

“SURPRISE!!! I hope you liked this idea!! It really took time to do, but the result is amazing, I suppose I’m the first one recording so god knows what the other might say. I’m apologizing beforehand for taking your external memory, but I knew you always save your things in it, SORRY!”; he grinned to the lens; “And before I turn this off, HAPPY BIRHTDAY!!!! I really like spending time with you!! I never get bored!!!”

That’s it?? Nothing more to say? Only that he had fun with you, really? Nothing like a confession or something like that? Just friends? You wiped some tears from your eyes, you had been crying from happiness but now you didn’t know. You were going to close the laptop when the second video started playing and what you heard froze you in the place.

“Understood”; and he disappeared.

Ok, five minutes to find Bruce and take the memory and get locked in your room to see the “surprise”, if it’s a virus you are definitely killing everyone.

Like always Bruce was in his laboratory when you found him, he was writing something and next to him was your memory! Finally!!

“Hey, Bruce”; you greeted him and he looked up from his work

“Hey there (y/n), do you need something?”; He asked you with a soft smile.

“Actually yes, I came for that”; and you pointed to the external memory; “Pietro has send me to get it”; you lied.

“Of course, here you go”; And he handed it to you; “ Hope you like it”

“Thank you Bruce, see you later”; and left the laboratory running to your room, how long did you have until Pietro came back? Two minutes? Maybe less.

You reached your room and slammed the door open and close and locked it. You turned the laptop on and plunged the memory in.

There was nothing out of normal, except that there was a new folder without name. you clicked on it for it to appear more folders but these had names, your friend’s names.

You first clicked on the one with Tony’s name and there was a video, and you clicked on it for Tony to appear holding a glass.

“Greetings (y/n), I just wanted to say that this is not my idea of a “Surprise gift”, if it was me, I would throw the greatest birthday party ever, with celebrities and such, but Speedy wanted to do something more personal, so that’s why I’m talking to a camera.

You know what, I’ll throw you a birthday party, not in the day itself because that won’t be a surprise but another day, one that you had no idea, and, and, and it will be the best party of the year, everyone will die to attend, and don’t worry about your family, I will send my private plane to pick them up. Don’t worry about the details, Pepper will be in charge”

“Excuse me?? I don’t want to prepare everything for you to take all the credit later”; Pepper said appearing in the scene.

“Hello dear” Pepper said to the camera; “happy birthday, just wanted to say that this is a very cute idea and that I already have a birthday present for you”

“We do? When did you buy it?”; Tony interrupted.

“I bought it with MY money and is My present for (y/n); Tony you will have to buy one yourself, and don’t say that this video is your present because it’s Pietro’s”

“That’s how things are”; Tony said getting closer to the camera; “Cheers to you”; and the video ended.

Oh my god!!! It was true, your birthday was on Monday!! And the folders were birthday messages from your friends!! And here you thought that Pietro might have destroyed everything inside the memory. You couldn’t help it and rushed to the next folder. Thor, but Thor left weeks before Pietro took your memory?

When the video started playing, in front of the camera was Pietro holding a letter.

“DEAR (Y/N)! I’M SO SORRY THAT I CAN NOT BE THERE TO SAY THIS WORDS MYSELF BUT I REALLY WISH YOU HAVE A GOOD BIRTHDAY”; Gods, Pietro was trying to talk like Thor!! And he was doing a good impersonation, you couldn’t help tears to roll from your eyes, the sight was so funny; “THE YOUNG LAD; that’s me by the way”; Pietro winked to the camera; “TOLD ME ABOUT THIS FANTASTIC IDEA AND SO I WROTE YOU THIS LETTER SINCE I’M IN ASGARD RIGHT NOW BUT I’LL DO THE IMPOSSIBLE TO SEND THE LETTER TO YOU; which as you can see, he did; “I ALREADY HAVE A PRESENT FOR YOU AND WHEN I RETURN I WILL GIVE IT TO YOU, I THINK THAT’S ALL, WAIT, NO, LADY SIF AND THE WARRIOR THREE ALSO WISH YOU A HAPPY BIRTHDAY”; and with that Thor letter ended; “You know, (y/n) this guy writing is horrible! Oh look there’s a P.S… and it’s from Loki!! Ok, I’m going to read it aloud doing the best of the impersonation”; he cleared his throat and looked straight to the lens; “Congratulations mere human, you are a year closer to death”; what you would expect from Loki, but you didn’t mind, you were laughing with Pietro anyways; “This guy is full of love”; he chuckled and turned the camera off.

The next video was from Clint, and for what it seemed he was, once again, in the vents.

“Happy Birthday (y/n)”; he said whispering; “I know that you might be wondering what I’m doing in the vents, I’m patrolling the zone in case something might happen, everything for the security!”; he thumped up; “Anyway, I wish to talk a bit more but the job needs to be done, huggies little birdy”; and the message ended, at least you know why he is always on the ventilations tubes.

Now it’s Natasha turn. “Hello, (y/n), this message is a very cute idea, you’d better be very niiiceee to Pietro later, I don’t know what else to say, I mean, we see each other every day, but now that you’re not in front of me I’m going to say something that’s been killing me, I know you have a crush on Pietro!!”; you turned red, of course you knew you had a crush but it was so obvious?; “And by the way, I think he also likes you, if not, why would he get in such a trouble for a present? See you later”; and she threw a kiss to the camera.

Pietro also had a crush on you!!?? The moment was getting better by seconds.

The next message was from Wanda; there she was in front of the camera without talking; “Wanda, I’m already recording you can talk”; came Pietro’s voice from the other side; “Oh, ok, Happy birthday (Y/n)”;she got up and left; “That’s all??” Pietro said coming in front of the camera looking perplexed and the video ended; you knew that Wanda would have preferred not to appear in the video and for that you appreciated the effort she made, even if it was for ten seconds.

Steve’s message was the next you saw. The first thing to appear in sight was his room but he wasn’t there, until you saw how the image trembled a bit and heard Steve’s voice; “I think this is recording”; and he appeared in front of the camera; “Hello (y/n), this is a bit awkward talking to a machine when you are next door, but I suppose that this is the surprise, I don’t know what the others might have said to you but I suppose is going to be something similar to this”; he cleared his voice, sat better in the chair, looked ahead and straight to the camera and said; “Happy birthday (y/n), I just wanted to say that it was a pleasure meeting you those years ago, you are one of my closet friends, and I suppose that this century is easier with your help. One of this days I’m going to ask you for a dance, of course if you don’t mind”; and he smiled sweetly to the camera, got up and tried to turn it off.

The last folders were the ones for Bruce and Pietro, and you decided to see Pietro’s last, so you clicked on Bruce and you saw him in his laboratory with the same clothes as before, and you deduced that he recorded the video earlier in the morning. “Good morning, well, I’m saying good morning because it’s morning right now but I don’t know what time will be when you see the video, so just in case, good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night (y/n)”; he said smiling softly, he took off his glasses and looked at the camera again; “And also happy birthday, I wish you’ll have a great day without Tony trying to get all the attention”; he chuckled at himself; “Anyway, I suppose I will see you later in the morning, but when you see this video that would be the past…”; he looked dozed out for a moment as if he had a brilliant idea, he got up and turned off the camera.

Every one’s videos seen, there was only one left, but you were afraid, what if he didn’t recorded one because he was waiting for the rest to do the same? You hold your breath and clicked on the folder and there appeared not one but two videos!! You clicked in the first one.

“SURPRISE!!! I hope you liked this idea!! It really took time to do, but the result is amazing, I suppose I’m the first one recording so god knows what the other might say. I’m apologizing beforehand for taking your external memory, but I knew you always save your things in it, SORRY!”; he grinned to the lens; “And before I turn this off, HAPPY BIRHTDAY!!!! I really like spending time with you!! I never get bored!!!”

That’s it?? Nothing more to say? Only that he had fun with you, really? Nothing like a confession or something like that? Just friends? You wiped some tears from your eyes, you had been crying from happiness but now you didn’t know. You were going to close the laptop when the second video started playing and what you heard froze you in the place.

“I… uff, this is hard… you know, we are friends and all but I wouldn’t mind being something more…. NONONONONONONONO SHE WILL THINK I’M A WEIRDO!!...... hello there (y/n), I hope you are not mad at me for stealing your things….. that sounds as if I always take her things…. C’mon man! You can do it just say it to the camera! I think that maybe I might have….. uuuuugh I can’t do this!! This is to embarrassing!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!.... fuck…. You were speechless this second video was the outtakes from the first one! You got up from the bed wiped some more tears from your eyes and stormed outside of the room.

You took some more air and from the bottom of your lungs screamed his name; “PIIIIEEEEETROOOOOOOOO”; and in a second there he was, in front of you, looking at your puffy eyes.

He was going to ask what was wrong but this time you were faster than him and pulled him closer to you so you could kiss him.

The kiss was rough but Pietro seemed not to mind it at all as he melted right away in it, taking you by the waist with one hand while the other roamed your back. When both of you pulled apart he was speechless but grinning his goofy smile that you loved so much. You pulled him inside the room and locked it. You turned to him and said; “I’ve been expecting you…”

“Where did you hear that?”; he asked, now with his hands on you back, and you pointed to the laptop that was playing the second video; “Oh”; was all he could say before your lips crashed with his.
