Description EDIT: Fixed mouth and made it wider.....now tell me I overdid it. Then again, they did that a lot in the cartoon. His skull is ALL jaw/teeth. Period. XP

Red lead for sketch, then normal pencil (mechanic) but then decided to shade it with the red lead. I love the teeth, I never really made teeth individually like that. I was usually a straight plain white line or with random separation lines but all flat.

Anyway...
THE FACE OF MY ANGUUUURRR!!! >X0

No seriously. This was done at a moment when I was listening to "angry music" because I was looking for an output to this emotion that's been bottled up for some time. First I was gonna do a drawing of my "inner monster" as my teacher has done one of himself. But I just couldn't -see- it. I couldn't picture it, so I went to the actual representation of it from my fandom.
Julian Robotnik. This guy's the physical manifestation of hate. The difference between him and Eggman is just that. Eggman wishes to gain respect and praise. Wants everyone to see him as the greatest ever and be the world leader.

Robotnik just wants to get rid of everything. In the very last episode of SatAM his last lines are all "I hate, hate, HATE that hedgehog! HATE! HATE! HAAAATE!"
The guy's gone mad a long time ago. Not mad like Eggman, just plain lost it. That's what I learned while drawing this. It also made me think, if anyone ever gets in this guy's head. He won't come out sane afterwards.

Perhaps this is the reason I like villains, perhaps this is why I love this guy so much. He's intriguing, but also he's a wild animal and represents a very wild part of me.

While drawing I was listening to the song Had Enough by Breaking Benjamin. You can listen to it here:

and thinking of the ending of Doomsday.

This was a very good therapy believe me. Like being allowed to break things to vent your anger, only without the physical exercise, but drawing is a strong emotional exercise if you're the type that works that way.
Been listening to other Breaking Benjamin songs since.

Julian Robotnik? I remember him fondly as Dr. Ivo Robotnik!

That's just me though, I used to read Fleetways STC a lot, I remember Robotnik was mutated from Dr. Ovi Kintobor, a sort of Jekyll & Hyde type guy.

Your interpretation is pretty cool though, love the teeth, hehe!

His name is Julian in the SatAM cartoon. Archie comics then used Ivo Robotnik but eventually said it was Julian Kintobor of the house of Ivo so when he took over he just spelled his last name Backwards to make Robotnik and kept his family name.

AoSTH Robotnik introduces himself as Dr. Ivo Robotnik and the original game manuals for Sonic Genesis games call him Ivo too. But since this is the SatAM one (and the one I love the most) it's Julian. I'm gonna call him that so people know which version this is.

you are now on to something here!

what type of lead is the red, is it like a hard lead stick like those for a drafting pencil? or is it just a colored pencil?

also, does that stuff erase well?

MaRaMa-Artz In reply to Realm-Of-The-Shadows [2008-05-07 07:22:42 +0000 UTC]

Is exactly like normal pencil lead. I have the same type of mechanical pencil, one with regular .5 lead and another with red ones i found at Office Max. But Color pencils can work too. It is a bit harder to fully erase but the thing is that's already light on the paper so as long as you don't put too much pressure on the pencil it should come out easy enough.

Just try it out and see if it works well for you. I use it sometimes and others I just go with the regular pencil all the way, then ink and erase. But I like to get used to it because is what the pros use.

so you use drafting and mechanical pencils?

i have a hard enough time staying stable with my mechanical pencil, im thinking of transitioning.

what color drafting leads does your office max carry? mine dont carry that sort of stuff.

I'm from Puerto Rico, so dunno if all have the same things. But here I've only found the red ones. They were in the same area of the regular leads. If not just ask an employee or something.

And I'm only getting used to mechanical pencils now because I'm more used to regular ones. My fave are Stabilo #2 because they are just the right feel and are dark and easy to shade with. I haven't mastered using different types at once yet. Oh! And OM is also where I found a pen that's .38 thin and it's great for inking fine details. Love using it for hair.

I had to draw this locked in my room because I'm sure I was reflecting that face while I drew him and if anyone saw they'd freak out and think I was possessed or something.

XD!!!

That strikes me amusing! But artists do tend to mimic the espressions they're trying to capture. I make weird faces when I draw and write, I must look hilarious.

Is that even what you meant o.o?

Dr. Robotnick will forever live on. When I saw this I instantly was brought back to the good ol days when it was just the freedom fighers, Robotick and a little Knuckles on the side.

I love this. It really looks like something that would be in the comic.

Ohhhh My god. Finally >S9omeone who understands and appreciates the difference between Eggman and Julian! YAAAAAY!

I rp Julian Robotnik in a chatroom I'm in, and I rp him as a scientific genius gone mad with hate and anger. Hellbent on vengeance upon Eggman for his treachery and trying to take his place as Mobius PRimes' Robotnik.

Having returned from a whole other dimension after the Ultimate Annihilator supposedly vaporized him, He's gone back to torturing his victims with slow roboticization roccesses or turning them into cyborgs while they're still conscious.

You should come check out PMC sometime.

I used to RP in a MUCK. But I wasn't too active. In the MUCK you could use several characters at once so I had a bunch, Julian included and there was one big fight between Eggman and him. But I'm such a perfectionist I usually felt I wasn't treating him right and often lead with argument with myself about it.
I haven't done it in so long...

Oh and my idea with the Ultimate Annihilator was something like that! Having him return, but I softened him a bit towards Snively for some reason... Hmn....

Now I'm gonna be back to rethinking that old storyline I had in my head for years...

AH. I had the snively idea as well! BUt Julian Keeps a very close eye on him.

MaRaMa-Artz In reply to tanekxavier [2008-03-11 22:11:30 +0000 UTC]

Well, my idea with him being in another in -between- realities instead of another one. Where he was just floating in a sort of limbo but time passed and all he could do there was think and think and so that time doing nothing made him think of stuff he usually avoided and change in personality somewhat, yet the hate for Sonic only grew stronger because he kept thinking how he finally had him where he wanted, had him in his hands and nearly got what he wanted.

So, how does that chat work? Can someone go just to watch? If you can get a screen cap of it in the middle of an RP would be nice to see how it looks and see if get interested.

The chat can only be used by registered users, but it's not a painful process. I'm a Mod there, so get ahold of me when you register. I'll get some good screengrabs for you, too.

I'm just hesitant because the last I was in, I was very fond of it and now it's fading and it started getting some new people I couldn't stand much and a lot of arguments happened. So I've been discouraged from trying others.

Arguments happen everywhere. you get more than two people in a chatroom and it's bound to happen. But we have a decent mod team and Arguments don't occur very often.

Oh! ANd yes, his mouth is a tad small.. almost reminded me of the Judge from Pink Floyd the Wall for a moment.

There's enough space to simply stretch his mouth to a wider format by taking it into your paint program and using whatever distortion tool will let you stretch and skew the image.
