Description A study of the Caracal cat.

I believe that I saw one in South Africa, however the ranger did not see it - but I was pretty certain.

I have depicted adults and a kitten.

The map portrays their natural range, which is coloured red.

The two paw prints at the top represent the front, and the pair at the bottom the back.

I think that the caracal is an exquisite cat, and I really want to get a proper look at one.

But I did this just during the past few days, I am self-taught, just I really love animals
I got the idea for the little map from zoo exhibits, I notice that they are put up on an info panel for each species.

Mararda In reply to fullcolour-canvas [2012-01-29 21:36:40 +0000 UTC]

Thankyou.
It is a caracal, which looks a bit like a lynx because of the tufted ears, but it is more closely related to a serval.
Compare a caracal, see this link: [link]
with the Eurasian lynx: [link]
The lynx is not as elegant and has a more patterned coat, the caracal is uniform.
