to offer some suggestions... I think you need to slow down a bit, take some more time on a picture and work on the details. You need to define your shapes more and work on the small things. Right now you do the big areas and hope that they cover the little details which will hopefully go un-noticed, but it's actually the opposite that's true. It's the little things that make the picture better and more complete.
At present you seem to be flatting the picture, then using the dodge tool to burn the lighten the heck out of the highlights areas to give it some shape. But all you're really getting is a smudgy ill defined blob. The best bit you have in this whole picture is the right side of the xploding Earth, which is looking ok. The rest...meh.
I think it's time you took it to the next level by working on PAINTING the shapes and really start thinking about how the different elements of the picture are formed and constructed.

Actually never touch the Burn and Dodge tool, I use the lasso and gradient tool but thanks for the input.
