Beautiful painting, and the video was great, too. Β This looks like, and has the feel of, something out of a fairy tale or fantasy story... Β a young woman on a long journey or mission being led across a swampy pond by a fairy towards her next destination.
Love the look in the woman's face... Β her expression comes across as brave determination or anxiousness to get somewhere, her intense blue eyes transfixed on the goal ahead of her. Β Great job on the flow of her hair in the wind and the flow of her dress (kimono?) in the water as she wades through the lily pads.
Great job on the fairy as well, and I like how you show that even she has some weight to her as the water ripples around the lily pad she lights upon. Β Guess one question could be whether she's a good fairy trying to help the woman reach her destination or is she an evil pixie deceptively leading the woman into a trap.
The colors in this piece vary from soft to sharp in a beautiful way, and great job in capturing their reflections in the water.

The story of this painting is so immediately engaging - it draws the imagination right in. I can see the influence of various ideas and stories, but you've made this uniquely your own. AndΒ I love how the setting has this great softness to it, blending fantasy and reality. : )

its probs because of the hair, from the way he drew the head she must have a bunch of hair on top which looks a little strange.Β

You are right, when you erase a bunch of the hair on the back and top of her head to match the skull more it looks much better!

This is really gorgeous and a cute concept. I love the colors, too, and how the little fairy's head looks so much like the water lilies, like any of them could pop out of the water and reveal themselves as more fairies.
