Shots from Crown Point Community Theatre's production of Steve Martin's "Picasso at the Lapin Agile."I was the set designer and tech director but the set represents the work of more than a dozen people and 250+ hours.
I received a NIETF nomination for excellence in set design for this set.

I love that show. The artworks on the walls and the vague stains on the walls really add to the flavor of the Lapin Agile. Carrying the color blue through the composition works, too.

It was a fun show to do. The wash on the wall is necessary so we don't get light bounce back from the walls. Anything flat becomes reflective unless we dirty it up a little. I've done stripes, wood grain, faux wallpaper, etc. but the wash is easiest. I love it when 'easy' coincides with 'appropriate.'
