Description Here's the first progress pics of my leather shoe project.

Here you can see me punching holes along a marked line and then using a narrow punch to mark hole placement on an adjoining piece. There are also close ups of the buckle strap and other bits.

You can also see the tool I use to skive (thin the leather) with. The two bottom pictures show the shoes before assembly, the picture on the right shows the up side and all the holes punched. The left picture shows the down side and where I decided to skive.

After this I assembled the upper and had both shoes ready for lasting (pulling the upper over the foot form)

really awesome! Where did you get those tools!? Making shoes is still something I want to do!

these tools are all ones you can find at stores such as [link] you can also search on ebay for leather tools, IMO the antiques ones are much better than the current products (so long as they're in usable condition)

that idea for fork is awesome
i sew shoes once, it was just clasic viking boots and it was funny but not as easy as it appeared so i realy *bow* to you, those shoes are much more complex

Thank you! Yeah, I've made simpler shoes in the past, but wanted to really try doing a proper traditional style shoe.
