~Jhessill 's OC Raqueal. She's a butt-kicking gargoyle, and she was super-fun to paint!Photoshop. ~1 hour for a sketch and ~ 3 hours to paint.
I tried a new color scheme technique here, and I like it!

Beautiful-I'm always in awe at the smoothness of the skin in your portraits. Really cool and interesting take on a gargoyle. Not cartoony, yet not so realistic that it's creepy. Another great piece of art

yeah, the "creepy realistic" is something that i first came face to face with when i saw that Final Fantasy movie... the one that's not about Cloud and Tifa and Sephiroth... O.o they were almost realistic, but because they were still 3D, they were so fake and so creepy O.o

yeah, there's definitely a fine between realistic and creepy when it comes to movies and such. I think when fake people look so real and then they do some sort of unnatrual movement, it's very unnerving.

the problem with that FF movie was that the people looked so real.. but still a little plasticky... and their movements and emotions were so so-close-but-no-cigar that they actually looked like really bad acting. O.o so they were creepy when they moved and when they didnt move. O.o >_<
