" wow Marieon u did digital art!!""yeah, it's been so long since I did a proper digital art. I worked really hard on this one!" I really should stop imagining conversations in my head..
I got inspired by some digital paintings, and also backgrounds are my weakness. So I'm practicing stuff like light/shadow, different textures and things like that! It's not as impressive as some digital art out there, but I'm pretty happy with the progress I have made since my first digital drawing
Shirota, (Shirotama Kaname) here is my oc, who likes to read and write! (and I've grown rather fond of his character)

First of all: This is a lovely scene! The bright, warm colours and the open hearted characters really invite the viewer in! I also like how you worked with the perspective and light to create depth. The details, for example on the objects on the book shelves and the characters contribute greatly to the awesome story telling. The message of the image comes across really well through the writing on the door frame and the street dissolving into the light. What I would recommend you work on is your general approach to light and shadow, though. It looks as if you had first drawn the whole scene and then added the light sources by just drawing in yellow and black patches. I think it would imrpove your drawing significantly if you paid a little more attention to the light from the beginning. For example, if the stones on the floor are 3D, they too should cast little shadows. Another trick to deal with light is using layer blend modes. It can help a lot to experiment with modes such as overlay or addition when painting light and multiply when painting shadows. This can help you make the light and shadows more believable. Considering this is one of your first tries this is pretty amazing!
This is loveable painting with adorable storytelling and a lot of Charme and character!
