COMMISSION INFO: [link]Can you believe me? Because I know I can't. I've re-re-re-restarted watching Legend of Korra. I give up. I've lost count anyway.
Before I started rewatching LoK, I've been thinking that there are a lot of parallels between Aang's universe and Korra's. You know, how the Avatar has as best friends 2 other people that are brothers (or brother and sister) and another that is a non-bender. Buuut anywaaay this is not related to this drawing.
I did this out of a psychical (I guess) need of mine. Because I really miss being a kid. I find it both fascinating and sad how some families grow up to be. How different from what they were. And how kids can be. When you're little you don't really ask yourself so many questions..
So I decided to portray these characters during a key moment in their life.
And don't tell me that Zuko and Azula never did once have a nice moment together. I made them slightly younger than in those flashbacks. And... kids will be kids.

This is excellent. I think my favorite panel is of Tarrlok and Noatak, with them standing back to back looking disappointed and bitter. Great job on this.

I can't believe you drew Azula with her hand around her brother's neck. Have you seen the last part of the avatar comic the promise?

I was thinking that, they would have never had a scene like that. Azula has been a witch since the day she was born.

I doubt that, though I get what you mean. Originally I wanted to make a bigger drawing showing how they evolved since their chilhood, but I got lazy. 
And kids aren't born evil. ((: Azula became that way because she craved attention from Ursa and was jealous of Zuko because of the attention and love he got from their mother. I think she wanted to fill the gap left by Ursa by pleasing her father and excelling in firebending. That was the only way she knew how to make herself noticed. And that led to her becoming, well, Azula. But yeah, it was pointed out that she resembled her father, while Zuko resembled his mother.

I know kid's aren't born evil, and I know why she turned out that way. She drove herself insane trying to gain her mother's affection. Because she never felt her mother loved Zuko more then her, I believe the spite might have began quite early in her youth.
