Particularly eldritch. The distant planets and stars in the sky leads me to believe that the crystal domes will eventually "hatch" from their respective buildings and drift into the universe, continuing to grow in size, eventually mounting themselves in the void. Provocative!

Thats an interesting interpretation. I really like when my work stimulates the imagination. The eldritch atmosphere was exactly what I was aiming for . Thanks for your comment, I`m glad you liked it !

The command of colour here is nothing short of splendid. If you do not mind the curiosity, does the orange of the galaxy (especially around the blue and red planets on the lower left) fade into grey, or does it actually fade into green? Experimented with contrasting colour glow, but never with results as this.
As for the alchemical vessels: Could those be "orgone accumulators"?
Now, orgone is as non-existent as phlogiston, but that has not stopped people from building colossal structures to collect it. And this does seem a milieu where Hawkwind would be quite at home.
Well done.

Hey . Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. Concerning the glow of the orange/yellow galaxy, it fades into a bluish grey. However this is somewhat irrelevant for acheiving the glowing effect. It could be any colour but what truly matters is how you manage the tonal values. There should be a stark but progressive contrast between the light and dark with a blurry area in the transition zone. As for the orgon I actually had the idea in mind while painting this subject. I was trying to imagine some sort of spiritual technology that channels pure energy form the Galactic Core.

You are most welcome, and thank you in turn - that simple sentence of advice has proven most useful. Only begun trying to understand light and colour in the past year, and have not found as much advice on gradient transitions as one would expect there to be. The blurry blue-grey zone has solved a lot of problems I have had painting "impossible" transitions, such as in spacebows (I do unfortunately not know the proper term).
The device, with the galactic core prominently displayed and the marine imagery, could well be a sort of spiritual ocean stream turbine: Placed under or above the Great Attractor, permanently exposed to an almost imperceptibly low intensity ray from its polar axis.
Good sci-fi should leave one scratching one's head.

That sky is just wonderful! You did a wonderful job on the overall lighting too by keeping it realistically dark.
