Can I ask, when you coming up with mega's, how do you come up with idea's that work and feel organic to the Pokemon that your using?

I sketch out a bunch of idea until I get something I like, I draw the actual Pokemon to help me get the proportions right and I do research on the thing that the Pokemon is based on.

Sounds complicated lol. I"ve been wanted to do a Mega Zangoose for some time, but can't think of anything that would work without it looking cheesy

Here's an example of what I mean:
Lets say I'm making a cat fakemon. I'll start with a simple sketch. I'll play around with some ideas, like maybe giving it big ears or a funny looking tail. I finish the first sketch and I don't like the shape of the body or head, but I like the ears. I'll move on to the next sketch and improve on the body or head and keep the ears from the previous design. I repeat this process until I create something I like.

Just do a bunch of sketches. They don't have to look good. Quickly sketch an idea. Pick out some things that you like about the sketch and start a different sketch, making sure to include what you liked about the previous. That's how I get most of my ideas. I think you'll do great!
