Dark Motives

Torches gave off a warm glow in the rocky cave.  Nocturn was sitting, watching Mikazuki sleep.  Despite all the anger bottled up inside him and the hate he felt by looking at the young Umbrespeon who represented all he despised, he couldn't help but feel nostalgic at the young bipolar Pokémon, sleeping while nibbling the tip of her tail.  "No...  I can't get attached to her..." the adult thought.  "She is neither Nori nor Eliza...  They're gone and I can never replace them..."
-What are you looking at daddy?  a voice asked, pulling Nocturn from his thoughts.
-Eliza!?  the Umbrespeon asked out loud, searching around him.
-Who's Eliza daddy?  Mikazuki asked.  Is she a friend?
-N-no...  Get up, we got something to do, Nocturn ordered, his cold stare back.
The two Umbrespeons ventured in the maze of corridors within the cavern.  Mikazuki was surprised as she followed her "father"; he seemed to know his way around very well.  Even if she tried, the young Umbrespeon couldn't find where they were going.
-We're here, Nocturn said as Mika walked in the "room" in front of him.
A circular cavity had been formed in the cave.  Torches were lighting it too.  In it, Mikazuki could see six other Pokémons; a Tyranitar, a Gastly, a Weavile, a Snorlax, an Empoleon and a Houndoom.  Mikazuki flinched when she recognized the Pokémons who had kidnapped her at Blaze's house.
-Don't worry, they won't hurt you, Nocturn said.  These are Lust, Envy, Greed, Gluttony, Pride and Sloth.
-Are these their real names?  Mikazuki asked.
-No, but I want you to call them like this.  Now, to obtain your revenge you're going to need to replace one of them.
-What, that kid's going to replace one of us?  My my, Wrath can tell jokes!
The Pokémon started laughing, except for Mikazuki who didn't understand, Nocturn who was being as serious as he could be and the Houndoom who just stared into the void.
-Actually Envy, you're the one who's going to go, Nocturn ordered.
-What makes you think I'll obey you?  the Gastly asked.  You're not my master, you scum.
-Mikazuki, you want to become stronger?  Nocturn asked, ignoring the ghost Pokémon's taunt.
-Yes!  the young Umbrespeon answered.
-Then prove it to me; destroy that Gastly and become the new Envy.
-W-what?  Kill him?  B-but...
-I'll just have to take care of her myself!  the original Envy roared as he hurled a powerful Shadow Ball towards Mika.
The young Umbrespeon dunked, avoiding the sphere of energy, and charged eerie energy in her right front paw.  Her Shadow Claw ready, she bounced in the air.  Before the Gastly could do anything she slashed him downward, almost instantly killing him.  Mikazuki turned to face the panting ghost.
-You little...  the gas Pokémon muttered.  I'm going to...
Before he could finish, he received a Shadow Claw through his body.  He left a small gurgle before vanishing, his body leaving no trace behind.
-He was useless anyway, Nocturn commented as he turned to face Mika, who was shaking by now.  What are you doing?  I thought I told you you had to kill him.
-B-b-but I didn't want to hurt him...  he didn't do anything to me...  Mikazuki cried.
-He ridiculed you in front of the others and taunted you.  He was also useless.  I didn't have any reasons to keep him.
-Useless?  the Snorlax asked.  You just killed him for absolutely nothing!
-The fact that he lost makes so that the Umbrespeon is stronger and of more use now, the Empoleon coldly replied.
-Pride is right, Gluttony, Nocturn said.  The moment Mikazuki defeated Envy, he lost his usefulness to me.  From this moment on, I want you all to refer to her as Envy, he added as he motioned towards Mikazuki.  I have seen her strength and her envy, she has what we were missing.
Mikazuki, still shaking, lifted her head to stare at the older Umbrespeon.  He looked at her with cold, murderous eyes.
-If you stop being useful to me, the same will happen to you, he warned.  Got that?
The young girl could only muster a nod.  Her eyes kept fleeing Nocturn's stare and seemed to look at the Weavile.
-He won't hurt you if you do as I say, the older Umbrespeon said.  Call him Greed.
-Y-yes da...
-And don't call me "daddy" ever again!  Call me Wrath!
-Y-y-yes W-Wrath...  Mikazuki stuttered.
-Good.  Go train somewhere; I need you to become stronger.
After bowing her head, Mikazuki ran off, frightened by the other Umbrespeon's menace.  She had no other choice than to obey him.  But when she recalled the fake memories the Tyranitar had implanted in her head anger began boiling in her heart.  "They hate me...  They hate me for nothing!  Why do I have to be like this?  Why can't I have their normal life?  What do they have more that I don't?" When she entered another "room", she noticed practice dummies.  Gathering all the Aura she could, she launched a barrage of Aura Spheres, destroying part of them.  She then charged a psychic blast more powerful than ever and annihilated the rest of the dummies.  "I'll show them...  I'm stronger than them...  I'm stronger!" the young Umbrespeon told herself as she watched the steaming remains of the practice dummies.  But it wasn't enough for her.  By combining eerie energy with her psychic powers she destroyed the dummies further, erasing them from existence.  Even when her head started aching she continued, her anger stronger than her pain.  She kept on striking several dummies in different rooms of the cavern until her head ached so much as she couldn't move a single muscle without a pulse of pain striking her, when even thinking hurt her.
-That'll be it for today, Nocturn said, having watched her for some time.  Rest a little; we're going to continue your training tomorrow.
Mikazuki difficultly nodded before instantly falling asleep.  Nocturn turned, joining his five other henchmen.

-You all know what we're going to do if her "siblings" come to save her from us, Nocturn asked.
-Punish them for their stupidity, Gluttony laughed.
-How about we go taunt them ourselves?  Pride, the Empoleon, asked.  That'll make them go mad with frustration and also make them go rash.  It'll be easier for us to strike them.
-Your oversized ego is going to get you killed, but I like your way of thinking, Greed nodded.  I need to get back at that damned beast for what she did to me.
-We'll go together Greed, Nocturn ordered.  I'll be the one to do the talking though.
-As long as I'm getting paid.
-Sloth, you're coming with us for back up, the Umbrespeon added.  Got that?
The Houndoom slowly nodded.  His empty eyes were staring at the void as always.
-What's his problem anyway?  Greed asked Pride.
-He's been like this for forever, the emperor Pokémon replied.  He just stares into nothing and agrees to everything.  Rarely even speaks.
-Brain dead maybe?
-Ask me if I care.  He's a strong fighter.  If he wasn't he wouldn't be here.
The Weavile turned his head to stare at the Houndoom again.  The dark Pokémon seemed to realize it and turned his head to stare at him.  After a while, Sloth simply turned his head again as if nothing happened.  "What a weird guy" the Weavile thought.  "Whatever.  As long as I get my money and my revenge on that nine tailed rat, that spiky idiot and Fuzzy..."
