I wanted to try something different from the standard story. I wanted to replace the character of Rick with one of my two favorite actresses: Selena Gomez or Chloe Moretz. After switching back and forth I finally realized that I could include them both in this piece. I have never featured them together in anything before and I was very excited by the prospect.
This version of Splatterhouse rejects the original concept for a fresh idea: Two poor young women enter (quite unwillingly) a televised contest of zombie-killing and survival horror.
Their objective: Live long enough to grab the cash and fabulous prizes available along with anything else they can find. It's kind of a "Zombieland meets The Hunger Games" kind of movie.
Set for a 2014 release date, this non-existent movie features Selena Gomez and Chloe Moretz at the ages of twenty-one and seventeen, respectively.
Selena Gomez plays Maria: the older, reluctant player who doesn't believe this to be their golden oppurtunity to escpae poverty.
Chloe Moretz plays Arianna: a tough-as-nails fighter, younger and more optimistic, who believes that she can avoid all of the stupid mistakes the "losers" made and come out of this game a winner.
Will they make it out of this alive?
Will they discover the terrible truth behind the game?
Will they ever make this movie?
Doubtful.

I guess I'm the only one in favor dropping the original plot due to how extremely problematic it is (the whole damsel in distress motif), I consider this a huge improvement by comparison.

I guess the reason for that is because they can't see beyond their own nostalgia filters that these games are rather pigshit and inherently problematic despite "good gameplay" well even worse the fact due to the fact how much of a maggot filled cesspool the gaming community is, they even willingly participate in it as well if you know what I mean which is pretty obvious by now.
Well I do have one recommendation that having the monsters from the games and maybe Rick as some sort of a Jason Voorhees like antagonist as one way to resemble the original games without delving into the damsel in distress plot.

Don't take this the wrong way, i'm not here to ofend, but i need to say it. I'm glad this is not an official Splatterhouse movie beacuse i would hate to see it. it feels more of a Smash TV rip off than a Splatterhouse Adaptation (Ergo, it fails in the same trap of every other Shitty Video game based movie). Again, do not take this the wrong way, the poster still really cool, my only nitpick is that you should it put Terrance Stamp as Dr West (i'm assuming Dr West is the one down of the moon)

um, not to step on your creativity but, the point of splatter house is kinda the feeling of being a monster going after other monsters for a good reason, isn't eliminating that sort of like if they made the terrible doom movie instead taking place in detroit and making it a gang thing? just saying

I guess so. Though I think the Terror Mask should be squeezed in being that it's the most iconic relic of the Splatterhouse franchise, otherwise you can't exactly call it Splatterhouse.

Exactly. I think the original story was great but almost every movie based on a video game has been a failure (and vice versa) and I think that changing the story to play against peopleβs expectations is a better choice than following the original story blindly.

They fail, most of the time, because they completely go against what the game is about. It's a terrible idea to go against the expectation when it's what the audience actually *wants*. Surprise the audience, sure, play against *certain* expectations, absolutely. But taking out Rick Taylor looking for his girlfriend in the West Mansion? That's the basis for the entire thing. That *is* Splatterhouse.Β
