Another amazing piece by Edictiv thats full of creativity and imagination, both conceptually and in its execution.
The great composition of the piece draws the eye of the observer towards the centre, in which we see a bloody confrontation between the two opposing sides. Not only does this help create a sense of depth throughout the piece from the foreground outwards, but to me, also helps illustrate the story.
In the bottom section of the piece we see the more industrialised civilisation advancing on, what appears to be, the indigenous faction; shown by their tribal clothing and low contrast in colour tones to the background, showing their connection to the forest. This could also indicate an 'Avatar' type scenario within the piece, in which these people are defending their homes against savage intruders, also introducing a role reversal between the two sides, despite the ferociousness of the tribal civilisation.

I like the detailed muskets, with the differing decrotive barrels. The helmets are also pretty cool as well, and I'm pretty sure that at some point in history Persian and Geeks soldiers may have worn a 'tall' helmet. Too bad for that guy getting a lance/hook in the face, but the halberdiers may avenge him! The way you have the savage warriors charging out of the fog is pretty neat as well! Fantastic work, I'm looking forward to more!

What strikes me most about this piece is the composition. The artist uses the various weapons to led Β the eye to the focal point of the giant bird and rider. The colors and visual depth are well done. My one criticism is that the figures in the foreground seem to be rather static and this takes away slightly from the overall portrayal of action.Β
Overall, however the piece is striking and nicely structured.

Feels like some kind of Inca vs. Maya battle, but more sci-fi/fantasy'ish. I'm not sure if those are the cultures you based their aesthetics on, but it sure looks good. I love how distinct they are from eachother.

Yeah they're loosely based on Mayan and Aztec warriors. The ones with guns are based on europeans.
