Eighth in a series of eleven images.I designed all the backgrounds in Adobe Illustrator CS3. All the characters were drawn, inked, and colored by hand. I tried to get typefaces that more or less accurately fitted with each Doctor to my preference. Hopefully everyone will enjoy what I was able to put together.
Materials:
Mechanical pencils, Staedtler pigment liners, Prismacolor markers, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator CS3, and a whole lotta time!

I always thought the 8th Doctor as the most pitiable. A young, fresh-faced and hopeful man walked into this incarnation...and a broken, hollow shell walked out.

What I've heard of Big Finish with him in was indeed good. But I think that the TVM, for all it's faults, didn't undermine the mythos as badly as RTD has.

This is my favourite of your Doctor drawings I think. I love how he looks so stern, but there's a hint of a smile in the corner of his mouth and eyes.

Again, nice job with reflecting the personality in the image. I think McGann is overlooked as The Doctor.

I'm getting that a lot, and the more I hear it I tend to believe it! I mean it's rare to make a chibi reflect an actors personality honestly without driving away the viewer with the notion that it's another piece of animu crap.
I think McGann was on the rise with all those Big Finish audios, I still need to give them a listen, I hear they're good.

I think much of your success with these is love of the character and familiarity with the various incarnations of the Doctor.
I've heard the same about McGann's audios, but haven't heard them myself yet.
