Mandelbulb 3D v1.67 + Minor editing in PSWhen I came upon this area, the first impression that struck me was that I was looking at an interior 'Mainbay' of one of SF author Iain M. Banks' ludicrously huge General Systems Vehicles or 'GSV's'.
These gargantuan, kilometres long starships not only carry millions of people - of all 'types' -
in comfort, but also ferry and construct thousands of huge ships within themselves!

Hey this is wicked. You should continue to expand this idea. Visualising the Culture universe is very hard but I think you nailed one of the GSV/GCU bays here very well!

jup, could be something like a huge starbase
the tiny fractal pieces look like single ships docking on a hangar bay

Yeah Dessie, on close inspection you can even make out
the docking points near the small ships!
These fractals look so 'engineered' sometimes,
it really makes you wonder....
