the city I live in is the arts capital of new zealand, so the whole city is full of random things like this with no point but to look cool and make people go "ooh" "aah"
like a GIGANTIC needle which swings back and forth in the breeze. and a buzzy bee on a pole whose wings spin in the wind... etc.

haha! the buzzybee is a big part of "kiwiana" or nz culture or whatever... Because every little kid in nz grew up with this red yellow and blue buzzy bee that you could pull around on a string and its wings spun...
so yes. we have an ode to that childhood memory, with a buzzybee on a pole outside the train station.

I have been to Wellington several times and never seen this!!!!! (not that I tried very hard) I still reckon someone should fill all fountains with soap powder and beetroot dye. PURPLE FOAM GOOOD, It worked well in Dunedin
