This whole reef series is amazing. Absolutely captures the beauty, the variety, and the motion of the vibrant tropical coral seas.

Thank you very much Shana, I appreciate your kind words. Of all the illustration work I did enjoy the "wet ones" as my agent used to call them the most. These areas do contain some of our planets finest and richest natural habitats and anything I could do to help educate the young was so well worth it so I made them as bright and colourful as I could and for a time they were very popular ... And they helped pay the bills too

Whatever you were paid, it wasn't enough
I have a special affinity with sea creatures. The wonder of them keeps me constantly amazed at the fauna of our planet. Have you seen Blue Planet, the BBC documentary?

Oh yes, I have the set on DVD, I built up quite a collection of dvd's and books. No matter how much you discover there is always something new that is discovered which blows one away. It certainly is a precious jewel of a planet that is being destroyed without a care.

Agreed. Sometimes it makes me so angry at the greed and short-sightedness of our species. I just have to try to remember that many species were ancient by the time we could walk upright and there is a great chance that many of them will still be there if our species goes extinct. In my not so popular opinion, this planet belongs to them more than it does to us because they know how to find a balance. If we do not learn how to also find that balance, then we will destroy ourselves.

I also recommend the documentary "Weird Nature" if you haven't seen that one yet

We do consume but we are taught to consume from birth by those that profit from our brainwashed consumption ..they destroy .. not us. We educate and wake up the walking dead and we break the control and the destruction stops. You can feel that our species is at a crossroads right now and I do believe we will come out the other side in a better place for all life but I am a die hard idealist lol. I will find the documentary, it sounds interesting

That is a wonderful way to look at things and I agree that consumerism is thrust upon us and hammered into our brains from all directions! It's hard to avoid the brainwashing.

Here is a clip from the documentary that shows how amazing it is if you get a few minutes It features the archerfish and the velvet worm.

Sooo pretty!
I love the colors. The reason I ADORE all of your paintings is because of the colors.

I used to enjoy painting these aquatic scenes, it was very popular once and it provided paid work for a number of years. It is something i am going to do again next year and hopefully they will be better. I still want to keep the bright colours though

I'm seriously surprised that this doesn't have more favorites and comments. It's amazing.

I LOVE bright colors. My bedroom has colors that practically blind you as you walk in. I love it.
