You need to do one of Gerard Butler as King Leonidas, so I can comment, "This is madness!"

Thank you for existing among us.

Amazing, absolutely stunning!

How did you manage to give the charcoal such sharp edges? I just started working with charcoal and it never stays right where it is supposed to be.

Thanks very much. I masked off the figure using masking film, if you blow up the image and check out the outlines carefully you can just make it out. I have some wips of it on my facebook page. Charcoal is a messy business so the masking film was ideal to help me keep not only the outline crisp but i kept those whites clean ... impossible for me to do it without it. I made sure i fixed the charcoal background before i removed the masking film too so i didn't damage it when i worked the figure. Glad it worked first time too because that film isn't cheap

Thank you for the reply! I've actually never heard of masking film(there is so much to learn)
and might give it a shot for my next project. I am still not that used to working with charcoal though so I might as well get over this hurdle! Thank you nonetheless.

You're welcome, it's used by airbrush artists if you're searching for it.

This is so great. I know this picture very well from the game . Did you use a brush for blending the graphite?Β

Thanks, yes the brushes were for blending and scrubbing darker tones.

Thank you. Oooh let's think now, about three weeks working every day for roughly 8hrs a day. Time spent not always physically mark making though, a lot of staring and thinking and staring out my window resting my eyes. I don't keep track now because it feels like a self imposed deadline.
