Description Here's a poster I made for Wes Craven's SCREAM movie. I hadn't seen any of these films until about a week ago when my wife and I decided to watch all 4. I liked half of them.

And if anyone is having a hard time accepting the fact that all the phones in the movie were chord-less and this one isn't...well I guess you're just going to have to get over it because it reads better as "off the hook" this way.

Thanks! I tried to make it a bit more subtle than the giant knives and masks on the official posters.

I like it I'm not a big fan of that movie, but I think your poster is really beautiful

Thanks a lot. I've been getting all kinds of folks telling me they like this poster more than the like the movie. I guess I must be doing something right, then.

I like your 'grind-house' approach to this acclaimed slasher horror. It works really well.

I like this a lot - I really wanna know how you do those folds, but I don't want you to give your process away.

I think I've already spilled the beans so it doesn't matter. I suck at explaining even the simplest of photoshop techniques and really, I just played around until I figured something out. Short answer: scan in folded paper and lay it over your design then set the layer to multiply. Easy as that!

That's cool, and in the end yep, all we can do is play around until we get the result we want. Still happy to learn your technique is a combination of scanning and layer styles.

Nice poster, i love scream, i agree with you on 2 and 3 being forgettable but i thought that 4 was quite good, it's probably because it had been such a long time so the idea was fresh again.

Yeah, I think doing it as a remake (but not really) was the way to go. Parts 2 and 3 were just the same thing again but with no real substance like 1 and 4. It's a great way to bookend the series, although I'm sure part 5 will be coming in no time.

The first scream terrified me as a kid but the further along they went I became much less scared of them. I've grown very fond of the first one and second ones but the first one worked better for scares in my opinion. I didnt even notice the whole cord thing til you brought it up, but it works really well given the killer's methods

Yeah, I think the first one probably would have been better if I'd seen it when first it came out, not over 10 years later. I think the horror genre was pretty poor at the time and Scream helped breathe new life into it and ultimately created a whole new generation of shitty teen slasher pictures. I thought 2 and 3 were pretty forgettable but I really enjoyed part 4. I think I may have even liked it better than the first one, but that's just because it's relevant to what's going on in the horror scene today.

I hear its a great film if you want commentary on the schlock you see today, I'm really not keen on the new horror scene myself. Endless remakes and torture porn
