Crows play a huge role in the lives of witches. According to legend, if a flock of crows circled over the field, then this field belongs to a witch. It was believed that the raven gives the ability to clairvoyance, can suggest the right decisions, gives cunning and intelligence. ⠀
In the common people it was believed that after death sinned priests turn into ravens. First of all, the raven is a prophetic, "talking" bird that can imitate human speech, therefore it is perceived by people as a messenger of trouble, speaking in human language. Usually it is the raven that predicts death and other misfortunes, such as news of the death of loved ones or an attack by enemies.⠀
