The rat king is a rare phenomenon when several rats or mice living in the same burrow become entangled, fuse or stick together with their tails and cannot separate. The phenomenon has been known since medieval times and is overgrown with legends in which a multi-headed "rat king" allegedly rules over rats.⠀Previously, it was thought that the rat king in a golden crown sits on a throne of several subjects fused together and decides the fate of the entire rat kingdom!⠀
