Sonic was born with super speed and goes Super Sonic with all 7 chaos emeralds hencing a significant boost. Sonic is been known to be the "fastest thing alive" and has been for 21 years. Rainbow dash just simply want to be the fastest pony of all of Equestria. I hate to rain on your parade but its just basics. You guys can start a flame war but that just shows how immature you can be. Troll me if you want, I dont care, I'll just simply block you or report you on DA. You're choice. I'm both a Sonic & MLP fan since g2. I dont hate RD I just dont like the fact that you guys "Think" shes faster than Sonic. I'm not saying she is faster or not, I grew up with Sonic the hedgehog series and basically m vote goes for Sonic. If another MLP reboot comes within a couple of years, G4 RD could possibly be no more just like g3 and g3.5. :\

Then again, if this crossover WOULD happen, it might start with a race and end up with the elements AND the emeralds being used on both to stop Discord after he out-backstabbed Eggman. To me, it doesn't really matter who's faster.

Metal sonic goes faster than sonic, top speed at almost mach 5. Dash, while in a sonic rainboom has the speed of mach 10

Generations was all about time travel, and he went into another timeline in black knight. I'm pretty sure that with Secret rings he was manipulating time. I haven't played any of these games, but I'm almost sure that's how it went.Β

Well, sonic could easly win, he can already pass the time barrier when he goes at a certain speed without stop, as shown in sonic CD, so, that makes him even faster than flash..soo...

I realize that this is a little late but here are some facts, RD after a sonic rainboom travels appropriately 1635.31 meters per second and over a period of 15 seconds, accelerates at an average rate of around 109 meters per second squared (all calculated based on size of her mach cone). Pretty fucking fast... Sonic cant be measured though because its always different (funny that a show for girls is more consistent.. but i digress) the general consensus is "around the speed of sound" or "mach 1 speeds" which is 343.053 meters per second, which RD post rainboom easily crushes. pre rainboom is again pretty much impossible to accurately estimate, but RD can rainboom at anytime with very little time needed to accelerate (as shown in season 2 Ep 26). So i gotta give it to dash.. just my two cents

m money is on sonic, of course RD is the fastest in the air but sonic can go lightspeed-not to mention break the sound barrier then go faster-well of course RD can break the sound barrier but she's at higher altitudes and that means that she can go slower and break the SB due to air preassure-but please, sonic is on the ground and can break the SB-thats over 750 MPH!

I'm sorry but i think sonic would win. I am a rainbow dash fan completely but sonic would win. Rainbow does have the sonic rainboom that breaks the sound barrier, but does anyone remember sonic's "faster than the speed of sound thing?" Rainbow dash can only go a bit faster than sound while in the sonic rainboom but eventually has to slow down. Sonic can run faster than the speed of sound without breaking a sweat. He is faster. I'm sorry i had to say that but it's true.
