Description
At the time of the attack, the heavy cruiser Glykon was in transit past the Aeolus Belt. Aboard the ship was just the skeleton crew, as well as workers and engineers from the yards at Hestia. They and a small officer cadre were there to oversee the last construction stages. Its formal commissioning was scheduled for the end of the yahren. Up to this day, their greatest worry had been the deadline and the last preparations to be made. Then, within hours of the first wave, the fleet yards, their assigned port, and much of the Colonial Fleet set to welcome the Glyokon, were gone.
Reports reached the ship in deep space, seven hours out from Canceron. They were chaotic but numerous enough to piece together what had happened.
The officer cadre met in the CIC. Most consoles were still wrapped in protected foils, in the air still a smell of fresh paint and varnish. Unarmed, unprepared, the ship had suddenly no direction.
