Brought forth from the depths of Tawhandoa and flung into the void between worlds, the Hierophant marks a new beginning and a return to the Living Heavens. As it climbs to the edge of the interstellar abyss, away from the homely light of the Lantern Star, the vessel becomes the birthplace of a new civilization. Aboard are a million pilgrims most faithful, called upon by the starlight. Each and every one undertook an extraordinary journey, from all over the iron-bound world, to that singular pivotal moment in time.
When they set foot on the starship from the deep, all souls of the pilgrims became enthralled by the spirit of the vessel. Their lives of old had been concluded already, and became now memories that shaped them – not meaningless or forgotten, but different from the waking world, different from the reality of their new existence. In this, the pilgrims share now more among themselves than with any other civilization. They have become a culture of their own, one encompassing souls from a multitude of lineages and blood, unfamiliar and unusual in their old world.

By the time the pilgrims will reach the nearest living star, they have will have grown close to one another, a cohesive whole instead of the multitude. Their voices will then speak as one, emissaries of the great world Tawhandoa.
