god I love your work!!

you are the first person I've bequeathed more than one emoticon award to.

(it's kinda fun to bequeath them, and use the poor neglected emoticons in dA's extensive emoticon library)

here. have a spork

It's photographs like these that paralyze me from feeling uneasy around bugs.

Great photo, man. Think I can see your arm reflected there - nice cameo!

I can't wait to buy a macro lens for my Rebel XTi. I LOVE my camera. Best pictures I've ever taken! I hope I'll be as lucky as you in catching such amazing creatures. Kudos to you! You're focus is always perfect as well as the value and contrast. Blows me away every time. I think you may have answered this question before, but I'm going ask anyways. (sorry) Do you do much with the photo (ie, Photoshop) to brighten it up or anything? Or just for cropping? I'm getting into photography myself and I'm trying to learn as much as possible. Thanks for any answers/info you can throw at me. Have a great day!

what does it metamorphosize from? and how do you take these photos, do you wait at a spot for hours?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MartinAmm In reply to gregowich [2008-01-17 10:17:48 +0000 UTC]

the dragonfly lives, before it becomes a flying insect, as a larva in the water. i took my macros in early in the morning when all the insects are in a torpor

Sometimes when I look at some of your work and they have the water drops on them..I wonder..'doesn't that annoy them, especially when droplets are on their eyes?'. Sorry it's a random comment but I couldn't help myself.lol. Great work as always.

MartinAmm In reply to creatures-third [2008-01-16 17:59:47 +0000 UTC]

the water is the dew after a cold night. i can realize that the water drops on their eyes irritate their visual impression. moreover when i took such macro, where the whole eye was covered with drops, i watched that they brush the drops with their legs away, after some time
