A very good font, I love how it's so unassuming and placed dead-center in the negative space. It helps bridge together the top and bottom of the picture.

Thanks. It's Adobe Jenson Pro Caption. A wonderful typeface and the main flavor of the humanist type era which lasted only 40 years.
I think how it bridges both scenes (which are symbolical) together is the real beauty of this front cover. I had a bit of trouble explaining that to the band, and why there is no need for a logo on the cover. In the end their web designer added the logo in small and they basically begged to keep it like that. The positioning and size were flawed, so I re-did it and I must say, kudos to this web designer because I think it looks really good. It demands a lot of attention however so in my opinion it sacrificed that connection that tied both scenes together a bit, which is why I'm keeping this logo-less version on here because it shows a more subtle form of sophistication. The final cover with the logo looks more noble and a bit more in-your-face.
