Description
A portrait (in my semi-realistic style) of Sesshomaru from the manga and anime "InuYasha".Please full view.
I hope you like my attempt...I am not-at-all fully satisfied...(as always !)

Mesmerizingly beautiful, I am lost for words as I stare at his perfect face. The delicate moon on his forehead in opposition with the crisp lines on his jagged, slim cheekbone. His nose is flawless, as is everything else. His eyes draw in your gaze, their lumicent glow pierce you heart, taking your breath away. The shading is realistic, no, beyond realistic.I can find no flaws in this "picture from heaven".
Sesshomaru in this picture is more beautiful than a god. He stands out from the background, but the background still welcomes you. The moon is barely visible, like the real moon. The clouds, ominous, hang over the dark sky, The forest, with details hard to see. The grass, bending to the wind.
This picture is flawless.

The colors are wonderful. The style is amazing. And you even drew him without his left arm, which very few people do. I've never really liked the look of anime people in realistic style... But with this picture it fits very well. Although the direction of the light is a little confusing. You can see the moon in the back, but the light is coming from in front of him, and in the opposite direction of the moon. The hilt of the Tenseiga is a little short. His eyes need to be less orange and more yellow. The crescent on his forehead is not supposed to be tilted, and the marks on the sides of his face need to be a little bit longer. But other than what I said. It is very well done, and fits Sesshomaru very well.

I imagined that the main source of light was the dim sun peeking among the clouds (in a stormy late afternoon) in front of him (on his left).
About his features, i didn't want to copy any preexistent image but simply to make a personal interpretation of the character..of course without any "real" changes that would made him unrecognizable.

Inuyasha has always been a favorite for many. The story line and the artwork make it an instant classic, yet there are some of us who wish to give our own tribute to the work of Rumiko Takahashi.
Sesshoumaru, the brooding and unemotive royalty, is one of the many heart throbs of the Inuyasha series.
So we come upon this work picturing this prince...it cannot be more accurate itself.
For one, the facial expression thought motionless exudes emotion throught the eyes. Not the usual cold stare but a profound calmness and even a tinge of sadness. What draws the viewer first is the absolute beauty and contrast of his eyes, giving him an ethereal look.
One of the important components in any fan art piece are the details, which in this piece are very well thought of and executed as best. The armor and color of his robes are accentuated well with good tinges of lighting and contrast.
The whole image itself is dynamic but there are several details that are easily missed which can be improved.
The direction of the wind, apparently existing because of the direction of the hair, sash and sleeve, is well done but can be modified if only a bit. The material of the robe for example is a bit heavier and should drape a bit more. The wind strength is a bit contradictory but it is a small detail.
The lighting although well done, leaves the question of, where is this light coming from? Looking closely the moon is in the backdrop of the image. That as well is a small detail that can be overlooked but is a bit distracting.
Other than those minor details, this image conjured the ideal atmosphere for our brooding royal beauty. A work that with important elements and good execution reunite to create this appealing and alluring piece!
Sesshoumaru fan girls will surely spend their days staring at their computer screens!

In visual art, the lighting is always a crucial matter...in all form of it (cinema, photography and of course painting) light has been used in many ways not always realistically...night scenes in movies are often very clear

Not sure about critiques, but for my part, this whole thing is lovely. The proportions are correct, the lighting is beautiful, and the lines clean and elegant. I particularly enjoy the way his eyes seem to jump out and grab your attention. The color is brilliant without being overpowering, and stays true to the lighting, which seems to be just at twilight. I also really like the background - so many people just take the easy route and use a smudge and call it good. This is detailed, gorgeous, and something I would enjoy staring at for many, many years.
All in all, a brilliant piece, and I really can't find anything to complain about.
