Mild spoilers, I suppose? Well this revelation comes roughly one third to one half in the game, so it's not so bad...
Lucina is one of my favourite characters in the game, if not the entire Fire Emblem series. And I'm not even sure why. Admittedly, she does have a couple soap opera moments, but that's true for the whole game. But in spite of that, she does carry a lot of the emotional aspects of the story. In fact, she gives you the player one of the hardest choices to make, especially if the avatar is her mother (like in my game). I don't know how to explain it well, but I just really like this character.

Lucina is a video game girl done right, which is SAYING SOMETHING. She's one of the most awesome females I've seen in a game in a long time. She's so strong, so fierce and mature in the way she faces her life, and yet her softness and sensitivity has not faded away through her hardship. The writers could easily have screwed her up by making her an angry or angsty anti-hero princess like so many other lame girls in fiction, but they didn't. The fires of suffering didn't destroy her heart; they have forged it into a fine piece of steel. For that reason, I am a huge fan of Lucina.
