out of curiosity, what exactly is this film stuff you make the wings out of anyways? and does it have a hard or soft feel?
It's very beautiful

Oh gosh I just blushed!!
Thank you!!!
I used a candle too! I held and waved the wings over the flame for a few minutes each, it was very calming! I didn't know you used film too, I need to check that out! I always try and look at my friends work as much as possible but sometimes in the big stack of deviations in my inbox the art I want to see most gets lost
Here is something cool I figured out! I put down a piece of parchment paper and set the candle on top of that, then as you slowly crisp the wings you can see where the color is becoming more intense (very easily thanks to the white parchment paper), soon after the color gets very intense in one area you can form a hole by holding that area over the flame longer! They do feel very much like plastic now, I tried to hold the wings over the candle long enough so that they would become taught around the wire I used to brace them Finally I used gloss glaze on both sides and embedded little clear and iridescent microbeads into the glaze while it was wet at the base of each wing, I really like the effect that came out of that!
I am so happy you like her, you brought a big smile to my face! I used microbeads and tiny glass bubbles on most of her body and some swarovski crystals as well The only problem with microbeads is that they need about 4 coats of glaze on top to be completely secure in place but it is well worth the extra effort!
These were actually the second pair I made I just got in fantasy film last week right after school finals so I was so excited to use it! for so long I have wanted to make wings that were light and not entirely of clay I made them right after a yellowy green and pink pair that look more like tradition batlike dragon wings which will be on a little oriental dragon sculpt He's a pretty intricate one, and will require a LOT of painting detail but I hope he will look good in the end! Ever since completing my posable serpent I have rediscovered my love of detail which got lost for a while I made both pairs of wings in about 15 minutes and haven't made any since, but I don't know why because it was actually really fun! I think my next pair will be clay with film in between instead of wire
Again my friend, thank you!! I'm so happy that you think I'm professional, I try my best because I always want to challenge myself and get better! And it's so wonderful to know an artist such as yourself that takes as much time and puts as much love into their work as I do!!

ME TOO!!! I wanna buy one tooooo!!! XD with my favorite colors haha! The wings look amazing! Did you buy the film from the website I showed you? Or did you find something cheaper. Mary, your art gets better and better every time! Truely! If I made a fairy dragon. I think I would try to glue some feather fluff around the wings and at the tip of the tail =3 no idea what style to go for yet other then that. I love how yours sparkle! Like the toys and cartoons girls LOVE and used to love as kids!
Question for you too. Did you bake the body with the wings in? Or just poke the holes first then bake? Were did you find seed beads so small? I need to go to hobby lobby =3 get glitter and lots of colors
