Have you seen the recent television series Dark Matter? This ship somehow reminds me of spaceships in that universe.

I have seen all parts of Dark Matter, but this is reminded the spaceship of DM to me not has struck.

I dig the ship design; a remix of a classic arrangement with a nicely utilitarian feel. Details are nicely balanced across the ship, and everything feels like it serves a purpose. Very nice.
That said I feel like the colorful background distracts from the ship, particularly given that the lighting on the ship itself does not reflect the environment it is in. Is the subject the ship, or the planets, or the lens flares? Think about how your eye moves around the image, is it most important that the viewer focus on the lens flares? Currently my attention keeps getting drawn there, and I'm not entirely sure that was your point here.
