Description I don't normally say this... but please full view!!

I present to you a fanart from a fan comic based on Anne McCaffrey's Pern books. Here are Dragonrider K'mlar and his gold dragon, Zarinth, characters created by . K'mlar is supposed to be "prettier than all the girls in the Weyr"... so I drew him extra girly! Haha. I love his eyes and hair color.... I originally started this intending on submitting it to one of her contests... but then school got in the way. And then yesterday I was browsing through old unfinished artwork... came across this, and decided to finally finish it!

Thank you! Actually this is not my story, it's a fanart of someone's Pern fanfic, in which the main character (a guy) impresses a Queen. The link to the comic is in the description If you like Pern fanart you might like that comic a lot!

You are right!! And 's fan comic is all about how this boy, K'mlar, breaks the Pernese tradition by Impressing a gold! I think it makes for an interesting read... especially for those who like shonen-ai (I'm not a particularly avid fan of that genre myself... but it's really cute in this comic).

That and it's the only comic I can find based on Anne McCaffrey's "Pern" books!! Why aren't there more comics done of the stories we love, hmm?! ;_;

So, his dragon is female? I could get that, i was just figuring out why the dragon had a male pronoun used. That's why I was so confused. Lol, thanks for clearing that up for me.

Oh! I really like this. Especially the work on the dragon, and on making the guy as girly as you could. Very nice work.

Thank you! He is extremely girly, isn't he? Haha. I love his hair. I wish I could look good with hair like that!

And this has been one of the few times I've actually worked on a background... I didn't give up after 3 hours like I usually do....

Hehe no worries. This is my interpretation of 's character, K'mlar, and his gold dragon. These two characters are based on a series of books by Anne McCaffrey, who writes about dragonriders like K'mlar and the dragons that they ride and Impress (bond) with.... It's actually a really great series, and I recommend them to you! I think Dragonflight is a good one to start with... that, or the Harper Hall trilogy (which starts with Dragonsong....

I am under the impression that Anne McCaffrey is something of a misogynist douchebag but I really like dragons/dragonrider stories so I'm kind of forced to not hate her stuff as much as I probably should...

BUT regardless of all of that I love this picture and I love the way you drew this fellow as prettier than all the other girls in the Weyr. Lovely work! Kind of love the surroundings/environment too - it has that happy summer evening feel to it. Yaaaay.
