Description Project :Teach Myself

I am trying a different style of art that I haven't really used before I was inspired by all the abstract portraits out there ^_^

You can see here as well : mashingcolor.deviantart.com/ar…

Sorry for the not-so-good quality photo, my scanner isn't big enough for this one >.<

I was really exited when I saw this in the group deviation folder as a thumbnail, even more so when I enlarged it, then my jaw dropped when I saw I know the person who made it..
it's gorgeous!!

You are very welcome
You are much better at combining yellow and purple in a painting than me thus far..
I may study this and try again

Thanks

I used watercolors and just kind of blended them. Blending is a bit easier with watercolor over acrylics, but you have to blend it before it dries.

I've never painted with those, I did recently work with ecoline, which is a liquid aquarel ink, that can become really thin with water added.. I still have the 4 jars I had when I was young and found them again.. and it was still good to use..
blending is different though with that..

I will use it again, but it leaves terrible stains..
I should wear gloves while using it..

yeah! I've found that out with spray paint and paint thinner (use it with oil pastels). They both smell pretty horrible too

That's why I usually stick to acrylics ^^  ( and vice versa )    I have oil paint but I've hardly used it because of the fumes and having no place to put them for drying..
I have some spray-cans but last time I used those I wasn't painting yet.. and I wouldn't use them indoors..

I've actually never used oils.. I heard they're difficult to paint with..

and yeah.. I used the spray paints on my deck ^_^

I think I once tried to make an oil painting but wasn't happy with the result,
On two paintings on canvas  I have used oils over dried acrylics, and that is much easier
than making an oil painting and it makes quite a difference
