Yep! He was commissioned for a guy in Chicago who met me during a sculpting demo I conducted last November. And thank you so much for the kind words and the faves! And CONGRATS on the DD!!!!!

Fabulous! I love the base you have him on and the wings are even nicer painted than they were "in the buff"

Thanks so much! I gotta keep creating critters with wings to get better at them. The base was a plaque I got at a yard sale because the scrollwork looked so sinister, had to have it!

Magic Sculp over stainless steel wire. It is harder to work with than poly clays such as Super Sculpey but the strength of it when cured is the payoff.

Look up a company called Wasco. They always have the best price on Magic Sculp.

Thanks! Always glad to hear from you! To answer your question, I use acrylics. I like painting my sculptures with paints meant for canvas as they are thick straight out of the tube and can give a bit of texture.

Wow. I didn't know you could use those on clay. I love to work with acrylics and I don't like the texture of ceramic paints. Did you use a clear coat of any kind to seal in the paint after it dried?
I'm working on my first sculpy creation. Sculpy is so much easier to manipulate than regular clay. As always, Thanks for the information! =^_^=

Yes! Using acrylics means a good strong seal is important. Buy the good stuff and spray it lightly or you'll 'frost' your sculpture. It may be a clear coat but if put on thick it will cloud your colors!

Thanks! I chose purple to suggest royalty as he is clearly above middle management wherever he works! And I thought an ashen grey would be a nice infernal departure from the typical warm red-orange palette of demons.
