There was an animation -forgot the title, sorry, but you can find it in the Digital Art tab with all their other animations- where Anti was lying on the floor, staring dejectedly at a music box with an angel in it. Is this that same music box?

I honestly think that maybe Dark and Anti were like great friends before like Dark I think betrayed Anti and thats what caused Anti to be a bad person and all that.

My theory is that they did something to a sacred magical place and killed all the other beings except themselves. They blame each other, Anti's wings are ripped off, he's thrown into the water, and they become literal shadows of their former selves due to the self-loathing and grief they faced.

There has been no actual confirmation as to who these two adult figures really are in pre-fall Jack and pre-fall Mark's lives (see Little Warrior for who might be possibly Mark's father) but we can gather from context in the images that, even if these adults are not related to Jack or Mark, they are paternal people in their lives. Guardians, teachers, mentors or otherwise.Β
That being said, I like to think of them as family, if my nothing but the color of the man's wings :> I think I remember irl Jack saying something in his playthrough of Unravel about him and his siblings and friends playing around their dad's workshops, so. This is still really cute and heartwarming no matter what.Β

I don't, concretely, /know/ really much of anything about Anti or Dark's past be it between the two of them or their families, if these people are indeed what they are, and even less about their world.Β
What me and other fanwriters and theorists 'know' is really just comprehensive guesses based on the smallest clue and detail within the context of the pictures and small blips of replies Mask and Halcyon Lioness are giving us. Me and other fanwriters and theorists look at what's been given to us whenever Mask uploads something we think might be related to the plot or world they're creating, and then try to put that particular piece of the puzzle in a logical place alongside the others we've been given.Β
Take this image for instance; we don't actually /know/ who this man is, but BASED ON OTHER INDICATORS we know this is pre-fall Jack and Mark because 'Anti' is seen with his wings here, and since the both of them are young and we've been given a hint as to other possible parental relations in this world (see - Little Warrior as the sketch page of baby pre-fall Mark hadn't been released yet) it makes sense we can assume this man to be a parental figure or an actual parent to pre-fall Jack. If for no other then context, and wing/eye color.Β
It's all in the details and context, my man. In reality, the two creators of this 'verse are playing their story and canon very close to their vest, and will neither confirm nor deny any fan theory. Sneaky sneaky... But that's what makes it all the more fun! Waiting to see if we were close to the mark (hehe) or not.Β
tl;dr, I don't have any authority on what pre-fall Jack and Mark OR Anti and Dark's pasts, or even presents are all about. We might be giving the creators ideas, but ultimately, it's all guesswork.Β

I am surprised that this therory hasn't been made yet or maybe it was and i didnt see,
There are two worlds in maskmans story, the world with wings and ours, so if i was here there would be me with wings there.
Now with that cleared this "wing world" you could call it, there is appearances of magic in her work.
It leads me to believe there is good and dark magic, i assume Dark was just another mark that touched something that made him cursed or got cursed, either way its not good. Dark then took full possesion of the other Marks body, and turned on his people, ripping off Anti's wings and severly damaging him. About around where Dark was unleasing his full power something must have triggered a portal to open to our world, Dark and Anti got sucked in, now here is were its kind of hard to tell what happened but my guess is that Other Marks body stayed in the same world but Dark stole his wings, and anti... i have no idea from this point. But anyways, the portal sent them to where our mark and Jack live, now the reason dark got put with mark is because since Dark took control of other mark's body his shadow form now looks like marks hence why he landed there, and since dark is now a demon/whatever He could take another host, the trip through thr portal has damaged him a lot so he cant get full control of our mark.
Anyways thats my therory :3
