This superspecies was discovered under the geological formations in the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park of Madagascar. He first appeared like the larval form of the insectoid Titan, Titanus mosura, then developed into his imago form without forming a cocoon. The adult Titan also resembled a deity named Batora worshipped in the same island of Indonesia where Mosura is served as the “giver of life”. After leaving Madagascar, Monarch designated him “Battra” and Titanus batora.

Battra is a lepidopteran Titan which he has two forms in development: a nymphal stage and an imago stage. Different from Mothra’s larval stage, Battra will not form cocoon and will undergo multiple cycles of ecdysis before he matures. Nymphs will undergo incomplete metamorphosis and their appearances already resemble that of the adults. This description is also viewed in Battra’s life cycle, which he has distinct parts of the head, the thorax and the abdomen, only missing his wings.

Aside from thermal vision, Battra can sense chemicals suspended in air or vibrations with a pair of tentacles protruding from his abdomen sides.

This superspecies possesses a tough body structure in the juvenile and the adult form. Battra nymph’s head is protected by spiky plates, while Battra imago has elongated claws for slashing and striking enemies.

The bioluminescence of Battra is similar to that of Mothra. Battra as a nymph glows in dim, darker red light in order to warn offenders of his aggressiveness, while he loses all the bioluminescent abilities in imago form.

The Titan also showed excellence in reflecting and refracting the incoming rays of light. Both nymph and imago forms of Battra possess certain forms of remarkable golden horns on their heads, which it will refract ray attacks or reflect them by total internal reflection. Battra nymph can especially concentrate the rays of lights into one beam attack that conducts higher amount of heat. The scales on the wings of the imago also reflect lights in vivid fiery patterns or disperse heat ray attacks. Such protective ability is enhanced when the Titan decided to shed some of his scales to the air.

However, the golden horns are more fragile than his exoskeleton due to its components are not robust materials but only making for its great reflectiveness. The imago may also be compromised in flight after shedding some scales from wings.

“Batora” is a counterpart deity of “Mosura” in the mythology of the Indonesian island, where the people there worshipped the insectoid Titans as the world’s beginners. “Batora” means the “gladiator of nature”, which fewer locals worshipped him since he is not as close as Mothra’s role to the people. Many even feared him for brutally drove the offenders of his territory away, even humans.

In some lost legends, Battra is usually referred as the “Black angel of the South” or the “Angel of Doom”. He makes appearance in this myth alongside the other three angels: the “White angel of the East, Mosura”, the “Purple angel of the West, Megagiras” ,and the ”Brown angel of the North, Megalo.” The four angels are said serving the gods alike, which they created the world in legends, and these gods are possibly fellow Titans.

Battra was born in 1992 in the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park and kept secret to the public by Monarch in a containment system. Battra seemed looking for Mothra after leaving Madagscar but he did not meet her ultimately before she was incinerated by King Ghidorah.
