BASED ON THE CHARACTER "VIRAS" OWNED AND CREATED BY DAEI FILM AND KADOKAWA DAIEI STUDIO. BASED ON THE MONSTERVERSE SERIES OWNED AND CREATED BY LEGENDARY PICTURES AND WARNER BROS. PICTURES.
This superspecies was discovered lurking under a vast body of water in the Hollow Earth, specifically being active in the Mirage Bay. Similar to the ocean on surface, the underground also has its salty body of water. However, such sea consists of the adjacent part and the opposite part, connected by rock formations, making the sea a circular water system. Designated “Viras”, the Titan is now under study on his ecology and interaction with the circular sea.
Viras is the only giant creature that dwells within the known areas of the Mirage Bay, thus he is recognized as a Hollow Earth Titan. He does not share any anatomical similarities with any existing animals, which is unique of his kind. Based on how he appears, Titanus scurraeaquatilis is a given classification, which “scurrae” is a Latin word related to the jester and “aquatilis” refers to his aquatic nature.
Viras possesses six apparent suction-less tentacles. Two of them located near his head have spiny structures at the tips, two of the rear ones have two toes at each tentacle, and the two arranged perpendicularly to the mentioned four are long, whip-like. Under Viras’s head, there are densely ciliated appendages glowing red that perhaps function like gills, partly keeping the respiratory system functioning and partly balancing the body salinity. Another mouth is located perpendicularly to the smaller head. It is shaped as a beak with four jaws capable of split-opening.
This Titan swims in decent speed, preferably facing his head upwards and propelling through the water with the second mouth as the front. He has a higher affinity with the aquatic environment, though he can support himself with the tentacles when he ever needs to travel on land.
The tentacles are stretchable and sharp as well, allowing the Titan to constrict his enemy or slice through them at will.
While both mouths are equipped to crush through shells, the larger one is specialized to release a hot plasma cannon attack. Using the tentacles to stabilize himself, Viras can fire hot plasma like a howitzer.
Between the red cilia is the shelter for juvenile individuals of Viras. It is believed that the younger entities rely on the air pockets trapped between the cilia before they are mature. It is still to be investigated on the method of reproduction for the Titan.
During the multiple Hollow Earth expeditions, Monarch discovered the vast variety of ecosystems that only fit the environment in the underground. A circular sea that connects both sides of the Hollow Earth is one of the many examples. As Monarch planned to pass through Mirage Bay, the tightest through of the circular sea and the short cut to travel to the rest of the known Hollow Earth area, they noticed a giant creature that resembles a cephalopod flailing his tentacles in the air, attacking the resource supply team.
After the contact with the creature, the investigating team designated and identified him “Viras”, a Hollow Earth Titan. Before they made plans to avoid contact with the Titan, they cannot stop the arriving team from surface to the Mirage Bay camp in time, which Viras appeared and attacked the team with his juveniles. While that team evading the assaults, another giant shelled creature flew and landed next to Viras.
The two giants grappled in the salted water. Viras constricted the shelled monster with his tentacles and tried to crush him with his larger mouth but was scalded by the rising temperature of the water around the shelled monster. He released the grip and fired hot purple plasma but it was also vaporized by the hot plasma shot by the shelled monster. Finally, Viras was slapped by the shelled giant’s powerful fist and retreated to the other side of the circular sea.
When Monarch settled down from the monster attack, they realized the flying shelled creature is similar to the reported one that appeared when Gyaos rampaged across several cities around the globe. It is not known whether this giant is a benevolent one but he acted protective to humankind for several times. When looking for any references to this creature, the mythology department found a name coming with many legends around the world. Whatever the same figure is referred to the “God of War and Valor” in the Scandinavian Region or the “Dragon Turtle” in the Eastern culture, he is also called “Gamera”.
